Dragonriding, so fun I want to smash my keyboard

It’s a lot of fun. Just takes some practice. I’ve collected all 12 glyphs in all 4 zones already. Unlocking the whole tree on day one is gonna make it so much more enjoyable. And once you do it on the first character, all your alts have it from the get go. Even the fully unlocked tree.

Its going to be a shock when you realize they are removing flying in all previous zones/expacs and replacing it with DF going forward in the first patch.

They could improve it by having your monitor flash strobe lights entire flight time while randomly doing complex aerial loops at high speed.

every single thing you described would give me zero dopamine reward

it has basically motivated me to avoid the entire overworld until actual flying is available instead of this gimmick

don’t care about rep grinds in the slightest

Just unlocked the first row and it’s already preferable transport.

Ya know, this “git gud bro” insult has become very rude and condescending. Not every one will always have the ability to be good at all parts of this game and you should just say you like it and move on. NO NEED TO INSULT.

It does. The glyphs around the dragon isles give some sort of training points. The first quest to get the dragon cosmetic change stuff, has one there and it gives you an extra vigor at the trainer. There will be more after that.

Look in your chat. If you are near one of the glyphs there is a chat notification for you. I was able to get the highest peaks achievement + those glyphs on only 3 vigor. I had to stop partway up and let things re-charge, but could do it pretty easily.

You get 6 vigor total once the tree is fully unlocked.

There is no rep grind for flight that I know of. You get it, and the points to upgrade come from exploring and soaring through shiny gold floating disks.

Thank you. I did not get that far in Beta and honestly was confused by it for a long time. I now think I get how upgrades work.

I honestly like it a lot more than I thought I would, and I hated it when DF Beta started. Now, I really enjoy it, but get why some might be frustrated with it.

I’m very shocked that people are having trouble with dragonriding, it’s made my play so much faster personally.

We haven’t had flying at release in ages please stop acting like we have had it anytime in recent history at launch. Enough. Grow up.

have done over 90 quests on the island and still nothing that gives me a dragon to fly.

In all likelihood if they do release regular flight, the requirement will be having mastered dragonflight to the max, including winning those “fly through the rings” races that are an excellent reason for me not to buy the expansion.

You supposedly raid and this is too hard and complex for you?

I have noticed the chat notifications but I’m trying to ignore what I would usually do-- which would be go and pimp out DR as fast as I can-- and stay on the quest chain this time. I’ve added 7 vigor to the pool so far I believe. When I say I would like much more- it is 110% a selfish statement because I would like to use the DR system for longer than 1 minute-ish per flight.

Then you are doing something wrong if you don’t have a dragon to fly 90 quests in. Do the main story line quests for campaign. You get your first mount and dragonflying less than an hour in when you get to Ruby Lifeshrine.

have you been focusing on side quests over the main story quests?

I was terrible at it at first. Couldn’t get up in the air and was hitting everything. Once it clicks though it’s so much fun. The tree has some neat abilities and it speeds up the vigor refresh rate a little bit.

yea something I’ve noticed is that they throw quests that don’t matter at you like no tomorrow. personally not my favorite thing in the whole world but it’s good.

They just shut down area-52 until 8am tomorrow so cant right now.
