we had this discussion for years… at the end everyone has a different play/view on that matter. you wand to play exploration then do it on your ground mount and let the rest play as we like . simply put …you dont lom day 1 then dont and live your life freely
They do it that way as Bots struggle with Dragon riding.
Forcing botters to do the story on new accounts to get old flying will slow them down a bit.
‘handicapping’ is only in relation to something else thats ‘better’.
YOU make this sound as if its an ambience/immersion thing…and THEN you PROVE that it ISNT by talking about your being handicapped if you choose to immerse yourself into the game and play it like you CLAIM you’d prefer to.

If you are playing for YOUR game, then there is no NEED to keep up and thus you running around on the ground ISNT handicapping crap because you ARENT playing to COMPETE with anyone…youre playing the game as you ENJOY playing…like I DO.

Ive never seen a bot fly personally.
Every time I see a swarm of individual bots they are farming instances.
I see them coming in and out, running to a vendor, then back into the instance.
Im pretty sure, flight or no flight…DRing or no DRing…botters are gonna do what botters do best…bot.

one of the items that I think was pointless was removing First Aid and putting bandages on tailoring.
Im sorry, but that one was just pure, unbridled laziness on the part of whoever decided to do it. lol.
Just take an hour and put the new bandages into First Aid for god sake. lol

Flying has been a disaster for the game.
They laughed at us, but we have been right since The Burning Crusade beta. Once again proven right.
All that is left is a (bad) lobby game. Everything else in game is treated as a chore meant to be done with as fast as humanely possible.

I never really cared much about it till they removed it and I started looking at bandages.
I literally have no dog in the race because by the time I paid attention, i had a tailor and it was just easier for me to use that then have first aid too…but its the idea they keep removing the little things that make the game interesting so they can save an man hour of labor, lol.
Dragonriding is flying with steroids, faster and easier. Can’t wait to fly old continents with it.

For this type of person, sure. Exploring and collecting is your end game so its bound to feel small.
For me? No. Flying available day 1 just like it was back in BC and WotLK (When game had arguably more subs as well) was just fine

Im dying to see how long a trip from the north tip of Kalimdor to the southern takes with DRing.
I can usually go make lunch, eat it and take a short nap on that trip now, lol

The zones are all literally designed vertically for flying. There are lots of things you wouldn’t be able to do if you weren’t able to fly.
After enabling flying, Z Caverns is swarming with bots now. Far more than before.
It’s why War Within is requiring doing the main story before tbc flying. To try and slow them down and make it more annoying when they gotta make a new account.
lol. By this joke every player i see in there must be a bot given you all said the cavern was FULL of bots months ago. lol
