Dragonriding should not have been enabled from day 1

Then anyone craving that type of gameplay should go to classic. Flying being available day 1 in an expansion is the best thing wow did since MoP.

I personally felt flying shouldnā€™t have been enabled in till a new expansion comes out. This is how I felt about it, since once a new expansion goes by it gives you plenty of time to explore and by the time the next one comes out it gives you a quicker way to traverse for xmog or mount/rep farming if you missed it prior and something to do after you get bored in the more concurrent content.

As a player who mainly enjoyed playing the game for open world player vs player back during the pvp server era I dislike flying but understand why people enjoy itā€¦ However Flightpaths was truly enough imo.

Wpvp was a massive thing back in the days but TBC Introduced flying which was a lame system imo and more of a marketing scheme to make players want to play a new xpack.

The original system was fine but once you gave players and easier way to do things of course they rather have cars than horses.

Sadly there is no going back at this point but Classic Wow pre TBC is your only option to play wow without flying and as well season of discovery.

Classic ground travel aint ONE ATOMS worth more interesting than retail with flight guy. I know. I played it for weeks on 9 characters.
you all pretend ground hoofing is somehow ā€˜contentā€™ and it aint. its time wasting annoyance.
Make GOOD content and flight or no flight the game will BE good.
make trash content and flight or no flight, the game will be TRASH.
Its that simple.

you all are upset about this for ONE REASONā€¦your world pvp gank fodder lowbies can fly away, lol

Clicking on a map to teleport is technically very immersive, because you need to engage with the world to locate where youā€™re going and are presumably using some magic to do it.

Technically correct is the best correct.

And there it is. lol.
This is ALWAYS coming back to World PvP.
there is no valid reason outside of this to worry oneself to death about other players having flightā€¦not that you are personally, its just an ongoing theme in here when this topic gets going where they start getting insulting sooner or laterā€¦ā€œyou all just want to AFKā€ or some such lame crap, lol.

I tried a pvp server before warmode. HATED it. And this is from someone who loves PvPā€¦in a context it belongs in. Such as I log into a PVP game and PVP in it.
WoW is first and foremost an RPGā€¦its in the games description, lol.
I cant RPG when Im being PvPed to death for 3 hours till I have to log off because some bored 40 year old kid hasnt got anything else to do to keep busy and hes too scared to go fight players his own ilvl, lol.

world pvp is trash in this game. Dueling is cool, but World PvP is a joke.
Your level 16 and running around doing quests and some bored children gatherā€¦about half a dozen of them, hanging out just above the tree lines in an area with a few quest givers.
They just keep killing you over and over and over like petulant kids until you just say hell with it and quit and move over to a PvE server so you can actually play the game for a while.

And then those gankers come here screeching about hating warmode and flightā€¦lmao.
Well THEY are the ones who ruined World pvp for everyone by being too SCARED to fight someone who might have a chance to kill them in PvP.

and here we areā€¦

I can respect your opinion and completely understand why itā€™s not for everyone.

However the amount of community socializing was with wpvp for me. Guild mates asking for help due to ganks or spending hours watching over cities like Darkshire, Rebelcamp, Lakeshire, honorhold etc for ā€œGriefersā€ was truly content in itā€™s own that I did for hours on end with zero to no reward but fun and helping other was something I took for granted in till we no longer had it. Is the system perfect NO, however it was a sense of a community that enjoyed something before it was slowly casted aside from the more vocal individuals that rolled a pvp server to complain about pvp.

At the end of the day it was the shine in the game I saw but again I understand itā€™s not everyone else but know 100% there was a community that cared for it dearly and I can even confirm it made me 2 friends that I talk to in discord daily to this day of a friendship we made over it and that was over a decade ago so some good can come from random forms of content.

Now weā€™re back for the new retail patch to check it out and waiting for season of discovery but play other games like league etc to fill that hole of a lost era.

:+1: It is what it is but atleast I got to enjoy it while we did have it.

Maybe a different player base back then made the difference.
Here and now today these kiddies are just more interested in ruining someone elses game than anything else.

they remind me of the ones who caused the one mech pvp game to have to make spawn points random because a group of them would camp them when they were static.
Just cheap lazy nothing ā€˜winsā€™ lol.
People who play like that should just quit. they aint actually playing the game

lol ok stay mad and triggered

yawnā€¦
ā€œyou dont agree with me so you mad and triggeredā€
lmao.
youre wasting my time with the immaturity sonā€¦perma blocked.
Go live in someone elses notification box.

No, i dont agree with you but thats ok. I accept that. You are the one typing in caps and getting all bum hurt. And so i am gonna put you in your place and tell you to calm down buddy. Cuz ur barkin up the wrong tree little whipper snapper

I am afraid Immersion is in, and will forever more be in, short supply with the Ź»New WoW" model.
When was the last time we ever had to talk to a class professional about learning a new spell or ability that we never knew how to perform before but suddenly now ā€œPOOFā€ and we can do this new thing perfectly every time without any training or teaching.

The cost of convenience was the immersion it seems.

Why are you still playing? Not a jab, just curious.

I miss the immersion a bit but IŹ»m OK with the new model. I never said I was not enjoying the game.

Fair. I think the conveniences we gained is worth the bit of immersion we lost.

ah so you DO admit we lost immersion

Talking about something completely different.

Sorry I know Iā€™m quoting you Ratjay, Iā€™m giving context to my other statement.

Vennz, Iā€™m talking about losing the immersion of hunters needing ammo, losing the immersion of characters having to go to class trainers, losing the immersion of choosing spell ranks. No immersion is lost with flying.

well on those other subjects i think we can agree. I miss the hunter pet relationship you build too

I never played a hunter back in the day but I did know about the pet feeding/relationship.

We have definitely lost some immersion over the years but honestly I think the gains far outweigh the losses. Wow had to evolve to survive. Iā€™ve dipped into classic and I can tell you, at this point in my life if classic was presented as current wow I would not play. Iā€™m glad itā€™s there for those that enjoy it. I wouldnā€™t want to take it away since the people playing would just quit if classic disappeared. Anyway, Iā€™m on a rant so Iā€™ll wrap it up. I enjoy current wow. DF is a huge step above BFA and SL. TWW looks like itā€™s going to be even better.

I find it interesting you say it had to evolve to survive because according to all known stats, the game declined in subs the more changes it had. Starting with WOTLK when the game began to suck. Like AoE tanking and higher difficulty dungeons

Wow came into being in a time where playing online with friends was a fairly new concept. Wow is MANY peopleā€™s (including myself) first MMO experience. It was amazing back in the day. By the time cata rolled around it was very late 2010 early 2011. Online gaming was evolving and once people wrapped up the Arthas story that began in WC3 (2002 almost 10 years later) they left. Cata changed the old world and many HATED that fact. I enjoyed it because it added flying. I was subbed all through cata and have fond memories of it (mostly).
