BlizZard should try to make options from my view. The one way or the highway approach hasn’t worked in a long time.
There should be an opt out option from Dragon Riding.

If you are too cool for DR you can absolutely opt out. Just ground ride everywhere, like you would’ve had to in previous expacs.
Just don’t be surprised if other players ‘opt out’ of grouping with you when it takes you ages to get anywhere.

To be truthful this has been a short beta cycle so most people are not aware of this and they will find out starting today and onwards.

If I may be so bold, and during my time glancing at the thread I never seen you explain this…Why?
I understand preferring ground mounts, I know I do sometimes if I just want to explore a zone and take in the sights instead of just flying over everything, but Dragon Flying looks legitimately fun? I’m particularly excited to try my hand on the DF races! I’ll be the fastest Gnome around!
Just…out of everything that’s an odd thing one would want to omit.
People are free to voice their opinions and concerns on the forums. That’s why this place isn’t an echo chamber. I’m sorry you feel differently.

I explained why for me personally.
I do not find it fun after trying it in beta. Other people have cited personal health reasons so I will leave it at that.

Blizzard is absolutely going to find a way to compel players to engage in the “expansion feature.” I accept that. I just wish the last few features hadn’t been so garbo. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised by DR.
It is one of the largest features in this expansion. It is replacing the borrowed power system for something more fun. I really do not see opting out as an option. There is even a dungeon where you use dragon riding.

Exactly.
Just pretend this is any other expansion, and you’re stuck to the ground for the next 6-8 months. Ground mounts still work just fine in Dragon Isles and there are flight points. You don’t actually have to dragon ride if you don’t want to.
Personally, I think it’s crazy not to dragonride. The system is AWESOME!!! One of the best new systems ever added to the game. A vast improvement over regular flying.

They way they are doing it is that there is no way to opt out. It is mandatory because you can not bypass it all.
At all.
I wish there was a way to not do it but telling people not to play the expansion isn’t a good solution in the short term or long term.
Just have to pray that there is something in the works that offers an opt out feature soon.

You don’t have to like it, just use it as a means to an end. What ever that end is for you. ( as you swoop along and smile I’m sure )
leveling is mandatory there is no way to opt out

I want to walk everywhere but blizzard is pushing this infinite running feature on us and I don’t find it fun and it’s not opt in because I get removed from every group for walking. This going to cause friction and destroy the game and they need to fix this right now and let the players walk. This is also an accessibility problem because some people with disabilities can’t play while running because it’s too fast for them.
I respect that opinion.
I personally don’t find Dragon Riding fun while others love Dragon Riding. But the problem isn’t if you like or do not like Dragon Riding.
The problem is that there is no opt out feature.

dragon flying sucks because when i start flying i cant stay up for more than a minute, not even diving and flying up helps my speed is terrible
