It’s built in the main quest line; you have to finish a quest earning your dragon and training in how to fly it. There is no oping out of the quest chain, it is the main story line quest.
Quite a few from my circle, because they don’t play at the same times others of us do. And they don’t want to be dependent on any of us.
You’d be surprised how many neurological and eyesight disabilities keep people from being able to use the feature.
Let’s not be so dismissive when there’s an easy solution that doesn’t harm anything.
People that bought DF are not going to know this and they will not be happy. Telling people not to play a game isn’t a good solution IMVHO.
Actually this is a good question. Is it even possible to play DF without dragon riding? Are there quests you simply cannot do without it? Are there zones completely blocked off? Is it like Stormpeaks in Northrend?
If they believe in their baby then they shouldn’t be afraid to have regular flying right along with dragon riding.
Well a lot of people will find out about it today and the coming weeks.
I wish them good luck!!!
But I can see a lot of problems already.
The same people who complain about everything concerning WoW making a post to complain about something we knew about for months. The day it launches.
This isn’t new. Everyone knew this already.
But. A key aspect to some’s identity is to constantly vocally complain about every aspect of WoW.
Its been well known that normal flying would not be initially available. But would be added later. Leaving dragon riding as the only form of flying.
Neither is this topic. lol
My answer is no and other have said so in this thread.
if people want to disagree they are welcomed to.
But as of 11/28/2022 as far as we know there is no way to opt out of Dragon Riding.
If you can fly with a normal mount you can get by with dragonriding to at least function. Point your camera up and hit Skyward Ascent.
If that’s still too much how do they play WOW?
Kinda interested in Dragon flying, but want the feature on my goblin faced mechanical mounts lol.
Don’t worry they will add some catchup mechanic eventually lol. First, or second big patch would be my guess
Yeah the zone designs says basically ground travel is difficult. I do not mind ground travel but it feels like you have no choice in Dragon Flight.
I understand perfectly what you are saying.
I can’t use very high rotation classes because of the carpal tunnel.
But at the same time, we are the minority.
Blizzard can barely make a “comfortable” game for “normal people” with very lousy configuration options (you always end up looking for an addon or something).
It’s impossible.
It’s not just Blizzard. The world is not designed like that.
The day I can’t play with keyboard anymore I’ll try to use a Joystick and if that doesn’t work then I’m going to look for an alternative game.
difficult but not impossible. got it.
I don’t really see the problem, this thread feels like a search for something to complain about.
" What! I can’t have it my way "
What would you do if Blizzard introduces dragonriding into old zones and removes normal flying?
Wait there is no way to walk all around the map…
Why would anyone ever want to do that ?
There are areas you can’t reach without dragonriding. After doing the first three zones and half of the final zone on beta I can tell you there are some areas you cannot reach without flying. Also these zones are massive and will take much longer to get around on a simple ground mount than in previous expansions.
dragon flying sucks
