I don’t understand why some of you defend DR so bitterly and attack people for not enjoying it or preferring OG flight. It’s not like DR is your brainchild or anything, it isn’t going to go away just because some of us don’t like it, why on earth are some of you so against the idea of letting people fly the old/slow way if that’s what they prefer?

Do the training and you can have a friend ride along, then when you run out, stop and have friend fly you around.
There is also a hover ability with training.

Dragon riding is the best thing developers have added in years. You need to learn how to fly. A mouse is also necessary, plus the glyphs. I fly everywhere i want to go more easily that with standard flying. Can easily fly across a map or up a mountain.

have never hovered in front of a cave to peek inside instead of fighting the 15 mobs around it? haven’t you ever hovered over a treasure that has an elite mob marching back and forth guarding it, and you wait to he marched the other direction facing away from you to grab it? there are many reasons to hover.

Bots, for one. The masses cannot utilize botting with dragonriding the way they can air swimming. It is a huge improvement to the game in that respect alone.
I would also rather they continue to develop travel, and terrain based on an actually engaging and interactive system, and find ways to reward that going forward. If they have to allow air swimming alongside it, the potential fun of hidden, or hard to get to places is rendered pointless if someone can just aim their camera and hit auto-run.

I admit that in the back of my mind, I keep imagining botters having trouble adapting their scripts coming in with complaints and disingenuous arguments. So I probably do read feedback on this topic with a twinge more skepticism than is fair.

Other than hovering you can do almost everything you mentioned. Hit the number two instead of space and you will go straight up.
You have not discovered all the glyphs or… You have not mastered how to use dragonflying. That’s not an insult… But you can learn it

All of these rabid anti-normal flying people are like the people that came out of the woodwork when Ion tried to remove flying all together with, basically nobody was calling for the removal of flight, then all of a sudden there were all of these people backing Ion’s move and talking about how unbearable flying is and how they can’t wait for it to be gone lol
There’s no reason why DR and normal flight can’t coexist, just let people pick the mode they prefer, to the people saying that bots can abuse normal flying easier are just being silly, bots don’t even need flying, they can just do their little jittery glitch flying stuff and move through the air with no mount of any kind (we’ve all seen them do it).
