Well, looks like one big disadvantage is all of the mounts that I’ve spent hours and hours getting are relegated to useless legacy items. Even a couple I’ve bought with real money.

This is what they plan to do.
As others have said, Dragonriding will be available day 1, with the ability to unlock regular flying later in the expansion.
So far the reception to the new dragonflying feature has been pretty positive. People say its very engaging and extremely fast (950% at top speed if memory serves).

I think it’s very likely that dragonriding is being used as a beta test ahead of replacing old style flight entirely, with old mounts being retrofitted to work with it. We’ll see though.

Dragon riding is extremely fun and I’d encourage all of the people in this thread dumping on it to actually try it before bashing it. I really think when people get to try it, and especially when it is fully leveled, the vast majority will prefer it greatly to old flight.

I don’t know where he got the information from as I cannot find anything when doing a light search myself, but it reads:
- Free Flight (New) Tier 9, Column 3. Spell: Unlocks unlimited flying in the Dragon Isles.

I’d rather just use my Magic Rooster Egg mount and run grounded then have to keep finding high spots to jump off with this so called Dragon flying…its nothing more then a time waste just like Path Finder…we’ll be months and months at level cap just like damn Path finder works…almost a full year into a Expansion before we can fly normally…
