Dragonflight winning over FF14

Just my opinion but:
Wow always looks like a glorified cartoon.
I play both and enjoy both wow and ffxiv.
But art wise?
Although a couple zones look fair, overall they are not anywhere near the appeal of ffxiv. The water quality alone in ffxiv blows wow away.

The gear in wow looks painted on and for some reason the artists arent capable of giving female foot gear a bit of a heel??? wtf??, flat foot and frumpy =ugly asf.

Some venthyr females wear heels, time to enter 2022 Blizz/Microsoft and hire actual artists for gear in the next expansion.
Inability to dye gear also is a HUGE creative loss in the “art” department

Oh back in the mid 00s and 10s when MMOs where a bigger deal there would be whole forums lit up eoth crazy enraged debate over who had the better game.

To me FF14 and WoW feel like very different games. Yes, there a lot of similarities but when you get into the regular daily play there are many differences. Flow of combat, the game economy, things to grind for, there are enough differences to make the overall feel of the game be very different.

It’s possible to like both FF14 and WoW.

people who are paying $15/mth to play a game are saying the game they are paying $15/mth is better than the other game they don’t pay $15/mth

Did I sub it up correctly?

Crazy what people pour their energy and time into debating I guess.

People insisting FF14 is #1 based on literally nothing is such a strange form of copium.

Classic has more subs than both games.

If World of Warcraft has proved anything in the last decade it is this:

World of Warcraft is not the FF14 Killer.

As someone who plays FF14 and WoW, they’re different games that scratch different itches.

Shadowlands utterly tanked my interest in WoW for two years and to be honest, I think that was a leading factor in me becoming “invested” in FF.

I say “invested” because, as a WoW player, FF lacks the need for any sort of investment. To some people, that’s great - even I appreciated that I didn’t need to spend weeks upon weeks of grinding to obtain something I wanted, but then accomplishments didn’t feel fulfilling either.

If Dragonflight is good, I’ll be happy to come home.

Mostly the same here.
WoW combat is superior, for me anyway, because it keeps me busier with all the abilities. ESO is better as far as I love crosshair combat over this tab targeting crap.

I think ESO’s appeal to me is Im an old ES player from way back when the series came out.
The races suck. I dont like the graphics compared to WoW.

ESO combat, while I enjoy crosshairs…is just too basic. Mindless. Feels like its just about banging buttons with no thought process going on in the back ground.
Wow feels more alive with all the non damaging combat abilities. More ‘interactive’.

FFXIV is very good about not disrespecting your time. There’s a lot of “Can Do” and not very many “Must Do” type content. There’s certainly big meaty time sinks if you want some cool stuff but it’s all strictly optional and the FFXIV dev team is very good about balancing it’s release schedule and ensuring there’s a steady flow of content for the majority of the player base.

Go take a look at the latest Ashes of Creation zone…desert zone. That is beautiful on a different level!

Come on this sort of shilling is as bad as the people who think the expansion is ruined because their classic Azeroth dragon flying ability on the FOTM class isn’t going to be 900000% speed.

Blizzard devs have remarked they could do housing better.

I just love it how people think FF14 will somehow BEAT Dragonflight when we all know that it’s gonna be the OPPOSITE. It will demolish FF14 content and story and all instanced content. So nice try on attacking World of Warcraft and guess what World of Warcraft is Critically Acclaimed too nice try on attacking on that end.

I dont see any possible world where WoW will ever recover enough to beat FFXIV.

Final Fantasy currently has at least 8 to 10 million players to WoWs >2million.

This whole thread is a very bizarre take given ya know… facts.

Yeah I totally agree. I don’t play FFXIV but ActiBlizz has soured way to many people. They’ve found their new home over there.

Are you sure about that? That statement seems pretry ridiculous. I doubt that many people even play MMOs anymore.

FF14 is, at most, 2mil. And is probably closer to 1mil.

WoW is arguably double. But we won’t know.

Final Fantasys last expansion set record sales for an MMO, and dont forget they are absolutely huge in overseas markets while Blizz is only really successful in China where the subs work much differently
