Lmao everything in DF looks like Disney Lite, and like it has a thin veneer of plastic coating it. Art direction has been steadily falling for years now, with BFA really being the last aesthetically appreciable expac (at least until 8.3 when this maintenance mode Hell basically started)

Lol, new expansion announcement suddenly has better numbers then a mid-expansion MMO? Dude, you clearly have never tried FFXIV. I say this because Yoshi-P and repeatedly stated “Its ok to take a break, unsub, and come back when you feel ready”. They DO NOT force you into a daily seemingly endless grind non stop like wow does in its hamsterwheel. Remember when Endwalker was the biggest thing? It crushed wow by a giant foot and naturally, the numbers went down as people did content.
And like first responder said, FFXIV has excellent housing and no forced hamsterwheel grinding ridiculousness. Their story is also legendary 20/10 god tier writing and classes aren’t borrowed power.
Sounds like you wanted to play FF14 as WoW 2.0, which it isn’t. Also I feel the same here when I get AOTC/KSM and exalted rep. Then content dries up. No difference, you should look into other aspects of FF14 after raiding - professions, gil making, treasure maps, housing, old content(Eureka, old relics), etc.

I was a huge FF14 fan, but Endwalker’s story had me rolling my eyes so hard. It did NOT hold up to Shadowbringers. I think the latest cutscenes in 9.2.5 were absolutely outstanding, so I’m hoping that’s a sign of good things to come.
