Dragonflight winning over FF14

Not making a reference to your age. It was a reference with how out of touch you are with your comments.

And these two lines back to back… seem a little creepy.

And yet they weren’t, at all.

Only if you want them to be.

Agreed. Really glad wow doesn’t have player housing. Last thing we want is for less interaction in-game.

Yup, also the meme lyrics such as:

Not enough DPS
We will wipe again
Blame the white mage
Fa la la la la la

or

Dragoon is down again
On the ground again
He will fall again
Fa-la-la-la-la-la

Such a great encounter on EX… BIGGER IS BETTER!

Can’t people like both games?

I like both games. Both have provided me good times of enjoyment. I think both games will be upping each other every now and then.

FFXIV PvP has improved drastically though, I’m enjoying FFXIV CC more than WoW areana’s right now.

For Raids I think its pretty even, not having long walks and trash makes wiping not as painful in FFXIV.

Other than that agree with this 100%.

FF14 never had updated design but they will soon. Wow will never beat Dragonflight or Elder Scroll Online. With the current systems and design they cant

FFXIV PvP is fun because they recognize that PvP is bonus side content.
WoW PvP I would argue is better, but not as fun, because they refuse to admit that PvP has also always been a sideshow in WoW. If they would stop pretending its this central pillar, they might allow themselves to take a few risks to differentiate it from PvE and make it more engaging.

I dont know. Endwalkers story really turned me off and left a bitter taste in my mouth.

The fact that you understood the story well enough to form a reasonable opinion about it is inherently better than WoW’s storytelling.

I would agree. I think WoW is better when the experience comes first with the story second. It was a nice experiment, but WoWs lore writing just cant be spotlighted that hard.

But in terms of FF14, I dont think have a disappointing story outcome is much better than have a lack of story drive.

He’s definitely a troll. However, everyone does have their own opinions.

IMO WoW’s story was never that great. It all seemed like generic Tolkienish high Fantasy. All be it, a higher qualify Tolkienish high fantasy than your typical fantasy.

I think personal disappointment in the substance of a story is infinitely preferable to frustration from engaging with a story at all. I wasn’t a fan of Meteion and the eleventh hour Dynamis concept, but I at least understand the direction the writers were trying to take. JRPG endings tend to be cloying, regardless, especially FF, so it wasn’t entirely unexpected. But at the same time, they were still paying off setups (some from years before). They still actively developed the characters and our relationship with them. All the fundamentals of storytelling, regardless of medium, were present. My critiques are “I don’t like that X happened” rather than “Why did X happen?” I understood the story well enough of take issue with specifics details of the story - my issues are never with the storytelling.

My fear with Dragonflight is that I will absolutely love the story… but it won’t be delivered in a form that I can engage with. I’m sure Shadowlands has a cohesive story somewhere in a design document - they just failed to deliver that successfully to the players. I’m a huge fan of dragons - even in WoW - but the substance of the story cannot compensate for poor delivery.

That has noting to do with warmode/world pvp factually existing as content.

The variety in FF14 is the jobs themselves. Your FF14 character can do every job you choose to level. I’m guessing they keep each job tightly defined to give themselves some chance to successfully balance the jobs.

I think he is talking about job homogenization, which has been a big issues for tanks and healers.
