2 years ago: Shadowlands blows BfA out of the water……
4 years ago: BfA looks even better than Legion……
8 years ago: WoD takes everything great about MoP and cranks it up to 11…….
Look, I’m pretty excited for Dragonflight too, but let’s not count our chickens before they hatch

If you think private server players had anything to do with Classic’s success then we have nothing more to speak about, I lost a brain cell trying to do the mental gymnastics you did to reach that conclusion.
cant wait for the retail tourists to jump on the next thing and forget about wrath so we can enjoy the game with like-minded people

^ This is exactly my opinion. Especially from the forums. In the game, I can find like-minded people easily. On the forums I frequently could but it’s gotten harder.

I doubt it, but I actually hope youre right. I hope the get their heads out of their butts and start making retail fun again.
Not touching dragonflight, no chance.
Shadowlands had no reason to continue playing. Dragonflight will be no different. Legion did it right, then bfa started the downward trend again.
Neither does Wrath Reforged.
I participated in the Wrath Beta and they ignored all feedback and went through with gutting half the features from the original game, the people that will play Wrath Reforged are not Classic fans or old fans of Wrath, they are people have built far too many connections and are too addicted to quit no matter how bad it gets.
I participated in the DF Beta and for the first time in a long time they patch things when called out, they listen to player feedback and fixed talents, they even completely revamped PvP and QoL features.
DF is objectively going to the be superior product.
Where is the longevity going to come from? How can you tell from the beta?
Remember how great bfa seemed till everyone realized it was trash until 8.3?
People spent more time traversing the absolutely terrible capital city designed for the horde than anything else the entire expansion.
Trainers were down 10 flights of stairs. All missions, dailies, were a flight path and a run away. Respecs were a flight path away. Pvp area was a flight path and run. Every zone was designed for flying. Had to take a fking boat to another continent to do basically mandatory daily quests with worse rewards than legion while taking 4x longer, I could go on.
Same with shadowlands. Roleplay unskippable quests all the way to max level, or you could turn the campaign off and level 3x slower.
All built to waste your time, I have no doubt dragonflight won’t be different.

No one thought BfA OR Shadowlands Beta was good.
Matter in fact I remember for Shadowlands specifically they had a massive forum stink about #PullTheRipcord and many were against the borrowed power systems along with all the soul sucking grinding/PvP being incredibly gear dependant.
They listened to nobody.
Wrath is the same, they got SO much feedback to change the game but yet they continue to sit there and do everything against what the players want.
DF is the first beta i’ve had between SL/BfA/Wrath where they actually listened to player feedback and made changes to what players wanted.
Just based off the fact that they even care about players tells me the future is looking far brighter than this weird bastardized version of Wrath we’re getting.

Ok you win with the feedback portion. But I’m still skeptical about there being replayability that isn’t just tedium after the first week

Wrath is timeless. It’ll always have a playerbase, even if it shrinks.

I sure hope DF blows the other up!
I was looking at the talent trees and I must say that I am interested. I really curious to see what they do with the classes because a lot of the class changes over the years have really been trash.
Wait what?! How can you remove one of the most important Min/Maxing in a gear based game for PvP?
I have little faith in DF unless they make it like WotLK which was the pinnacle of WoW granted they are trying to ruin Wrath in this rerelease and don’t have enough resources dedicated to it.
Terrible take. SL had the worst zones and quest in history. I much rather do anything in BFA than SL and that is saying something.
WotLK Classic would probably be a more enjoyable experience if half the population did leave to go play retail DF.

Yeah I was really upset when they removed the profession bonuses. Better gems/more socket/trinket like cloak enchants…. It really made having professions lack luster
I would agree but the last time I truly enjoyed myself in game was in MoP. Even the entire life of Cata felt like such a chore to play that I spent the entire expansion leveling alts.
