And this is what 90% of people in this thread don t understand. This is about people’s trust in Blizzard and nothing else. People until now somehow trusted Blizzard to not release stuff that cost money for free. Not the case anymore
and this means no need to spend money on anything outside of the sub…which in turn is bad for the company.
All this other crap about bmah and ebay and tcg etc means nothing. What is important is that Blizzard can not be trusted anymore in terms of the exclusivity they provide. Why buy a collector or epic edition when you possibly now can get those rewards for AFKing a second monitor for 4 hours in a near future?
You must be young because it seems you CLEARLY do not understand economics and the collecting market. The cards will still be valuable NOT because you can t get the items anymore but because they are scarce and there is a strong market for any type of trading cards.
Didn’t your dad collect baseball cards? These rare cards like the Feldrake will still be graded by grading companies and put into a locked plastic sleeve for eternity and their price will keep on rising for 100s of years. Why ? because collecting and scarcity are two things that drives collectors.
Only thinking the cards are expensive because people want to buy them and scratch them to show them in game is totally completely utterly missing the point of collecting physical items like stamps, coins, trading cards, comics, posters, cds, dvds, concert tickets etc.
Can we take a moment of silence to point the finger at people who don t understand the collectors markets?
You couldn’t be any more wrong, but good job assuming and showing how stupid you really are.
The cards have basically no value outside of the in game items, sure you can get collect them, get them graded, but they’re still worth nothing. here’s a lot of 12 scratched TCG cards that would amount of thousands of dollars unscratched, for only $5.
So you are saying the unscratched cards have more value than the scratched ones? Gosh could it be like they are like a wrapped original pokemon game versus a game without the box and manual?
“but they’re still worth nothing”
Look like someone still does not understand how collectable items work and self owned themselves. Do you think the unscratched spectral tiger is worth nothing? You are good at looking at ebay prices so please enlighten us how low an unscratched tiger is? And remember, its value is due to its scarcity so claiming it is worth nothing is a serious self own. How cute
Interesting how you claim the cards to still have value due to how scarce they are, scratched or unscratched, seems you’re wrong once again, also, do some research before you speak because even graded WoW TCG cards have little to no value, the only one that has sold in like the last 6 months was a psa 10 swift spectral tiger that sold for it’s non graded cost, probably cracked that trash open and used the code.
I suppose that’s a question for the kid trying to flex his “knowledge” on economics and marketing by talking out of his butt and spreading misinformation. But outside of sentimental value the cards have no dollar value besides unscratched loot cards for their in game items.
There’s a reason the WoW TCG isn’t being printed and it’s because it wasen’t successful, graded or not none of the non scratch off cards are worth anything and don’t even sell.
You don’t have to understand, but I feel that you should respect that other people have different tastes. Do other models look way better? Absolutely, and I won’t even try to deny that, but my tiger is still as shiny as the day I redeemed my code in my eyes.
It destroys a secondary after market value of one of the products. The fel drake is not actually rare it’s just expensive, there were lots of the feldrake codes produced at the time, but given the fact the cards are no longer manufactured, aren’t owned solely by blizzard and there are limited numbers of people with unused codes now, the cost of getting one has skyrocketed. This move simultaneously deflates the current market price of these which are in the thousands right now, and helps remove the potential of poor customer experience due to people buying codes that are delivered used after purchase, by giving players an option to obtain the mount through a legitimate source while also boosting their games viewership numbers on twitch and Generating additional revenue for their community of content creators. Overall it’s a good move by blizzard for everyone!
I’m surprised to see how easily the gatekeepers have given up. Back when the people asked for the return of Mage Tower skins and less FOMO, these topics went on for weeks. But this? Already over after four days.
Looks like it’s really just a small number who want to deny fun and accessibility to other people. It was the right decision from Blizzard to bring back the TCG-stuff and I do hope they continue so with a rotation plan.
I have seen how a few people started to ignore me after I threw them their own toxic words back when they told me “you’re delusional” with how Blizzard will act. The signs were always there and it continues to become better. FOMO cannot continue to fester this much without bringing the items either in the shop or through promotions back.
Looking back, I feel sorry for the people who made absolute ridiculous statements by attacking others. Maybe this is finally the wake-up call they need. It’s a game with an artificial and unlimited number of items. Treat it as one, for the sake of your own mental health. If you want rarities, then go on flea markets and hunt for stuff to sell.
In regard to the “uproar” on the method for getting the mounts… I don’t really mind it and honestly don’t get why people are crying about it. We will be getting something while having a stream on in the background - you can have it muted if you don’t care about the creator, you can have it minimized on your computer. If you are so against supporting creators, simply don’t participate.
It’s not gatekeeping when you ask for those things to be handled with a bit more sensibilty and compassion though (compassion, unless of course if you first and foremost care about what generates the greatest amount of attention).
FOMO unarguably isn’t fun all the way. And EVERYTHING that retired should be made available again.
Available via appropriate means that is.
You can’t make such an assessment meaningful solely by the amount of people who voice their opinion on the forums.
yeah wow devs or blizz getting political here spitting on legacy rare collectors segregating them giving them nothing new from the event feeding the flamers or bullys that making fun of people getting devaluated stuff just because they want something for free but they feel fed with the salt of people getting ruined and blizzard is promoting that hate against legacy players segregating owners devaluating the stuff and not listening to the opinion of tcg collectors and rare lover community they just dictating stuff ruining some people day and making wow loose worth as game also a recolor or new model for EVERYONE will solve this but no they want the salt or they are lazy idk so sad. pd: i don’t have feldrake
