Dragonflight Season 4 Dungeon Changes Ahead

M+

M+ and timer are two things that shouldn’t be separated. If you don’t like the pressure, don’t play it, casuals should stop trying to take the fun out of the game for the people who care about it.

I mean, speed running can have it’s own thing while no timer runs can do their own thing, with competing rewards.

Both can exist without ruffling people’s jimmies.

If i don’t like pressure, then i would had never played pvp or raid back in the day.

I don’t look at speed running as a competitive thing, it just brings the worst out of ppl.

Ruins the chill from the game.

i guess you didn’t bother to look up my io or achieves did ya? I learn the game just fine, by the way you still progressing Amirdrisil? i quit months ago and you still only have 1 more mythic boss down than i do.

A competitive thing will always “bring the worst out of people”, because people want the competitive result, if you’re not being an anchor to the group, it shouldn’t matter. I’ve climbed to 3k by pugging with 2 characters and I haven’t had a problem with toxicity.

If you had done the same thing you said I didn’t do, you’d know that I stopped raiding about 2 months ago lol

As someone that was apart of a top realm raid guild back in wotlk, I disagree. If there is no timer, oftenly when someone messes up, we help lift them up. But because M+ has a timer and a harsh punishment when you fail that timer because someone messed up, it ends with rage, because now they have grind the stone back up.

You can choose the people you play with and filter out the toxic ones, that solves the problem without wanting fun ruined for people who have fun with the timers. You can adapt to the game, the game can’t adapt to you.

I’d be down for that, it’d be just a challenge to give both game modes comparable rewards given the vast difference in context despite them both being dungeons.

However your initial response implied the goal should be removing timers from dungeon content.

and I’m 3.3k rio in EU, your point?

While I will admit these changes are fantastic and will make heroics relevant again, I would really like to give MY opinion on the overall “seasonality” of World of Warcraft.

To be honest, I guess someone must find it “fun” but I personally HATE having to endlessly replace gear throughout an expansion.

I mean take season 3, I have spent hours and hours acquiring gear and the resources to upgrade it as high as I can. This maxed out gear makes me feel powerful. Then, the next “season” comes around and now all of that effort and time literally goes in the trash.

My M20 gear? Now it’s heroic dungeon level in season 4. Really tired of gaining power to feel strong only to be forcefully and arbitrarily made weak every few months.

I spent a ton of time gearing up, let me enjoy it. I’m tired of the gear replacement treadmill. It’s boring, unoriginal and makes your past effort meaningless.

I really look forward to these changes but I hope beyond hope blizzard will stop pressing the reset button on gear every few months.

This is my .02. I know many will disagree and perhaps gearing is your favorite part of wow but I feel the game offers so much more content that changing gear repeatedly doesn’t need to be the focus.

Additionally, I want to state that I believe Legion was such a well enjoyed expansion specially because our artifacts were constantly being improved the whole expansion so that by the end we truly felt like we were extremely powerful and had been increasing that power the whole time rather that gaining and losing power over and over.

Boy you really can do anything underage in Europe.

One issue that I think this change might address, and I could be wrong, is that currently, from my experience pugging on alts, the lower range of mythic plus is more often than not, faceroll and trivial. Mechanics rarely have to be addressed, no interrupts etc.
Then eventually there comes a point where those things start to matter and then there’s affixes and you’ve got a group of people that haven’t properly experienced any of it, on top of them having to beat a timer and it’s a disaster.
It’s possible that this could create a space where the content is difficult enough to where folks will have to properly deal with the mechanics and learn about them before getting into a place where failing to do so results in not beating a timer.

I’m thinking the difficulty spike from Heroic to M0 will be too big if they are indeed equivalent to a current M0 and M+10 (respectively).

Monster health and damage will jump around 2.5x, but player damage and health/healing (at an estimated “entry” ilvl for each difficulty) will only be up around 1.25x. This will cause the fights to take 2x longer (which I am okay with), but also the increase in monster damage will require 2x (relatively) more healing. The math gets muddied by a few factors, but M0 will definitely be a rude awakening…

… unless Heroic already scared everyone off. Normal to Heroic will be a similar spike (current M0 is 2x Heroic monster damage by my testing), but that’s always a mess past S1 for Normal to be doable for fresh 70s.

I’d like to see smaller monster damage increases between difficulties. Either stick 1 or 2 more difficulties between Normal and M0, or just scale monster damage slower. No more than 1.5x per difficulty, after taking gear increases into account (this would be around 5 keystone levels if you bring down the gear gap to match).

You should find a better hobby than complaining on fourms

Your level of comprehension of the subject at hand is entertaining. The complaint being raised is at the comparison to the difference in difficulty for gear acquisition. The simple matter of the game has always been that if you are good at the game, gear comes as fast as you want it to. Gear acquisition is not something I have ever had an issue with.

It is coming from the perspective of a guild/raid leader looking at fielding a roster for mythic content. If you can facepull through a +8 for mythic quality gear, then why would people want to sit through mythic pulls weekly for potential fated raids? What is the reason for a raider to stay raiding aside from the community there? Gear certainly isn’t the reason now aside from a couple of chase items each season.

PVP content changes when?

Where is the new pvp and battleground content? We’ve had the same old modes and maps for years. Stop neglecting the PVP community.

It’s funny how they nuked one of the reasonable skips they accidentally made for a dungeon while letting pixel perfect jumps or sneak past mobs persist.

Yeah, raids have been an atrocious option for getting gear since forever. Brief exception was Legion with it’s higher drop count and 3 bonus rolls, but then that was gutted in BFA and SL…

If none are listed in 10.2.7 development notes once that PTR comes up, I wouldn’t expect any until after the S4 AWC ends.
