Just reading through this thread, watching both sides of it, the people pushing M+ keys belittling those who donât and complaining it will now be âeasierâ, and the ones who donât knowing this will be a far more solid barrier to entry meaning even less new players will join in with it, says to me one thingâŠ
M+ has done more damage to this game than any other system ever added to it.
Itâs more harmful than the Tuesday Skinner box lottery vault.
Itâs more harmful than the backwards progression scaling in leveling dungeons thatâs depressing for anyone watching everything get nuked by a lvl 10 priest with 1 spell.
Itâs more harmful than War Mode bribing people into PvP with PvE rewards.
And now, just to enter this horrible system you have to do the equivalent of a +10 so thereâs even less reason for people wanting their carry to help out an actual new to the system player.
I hate M+, always have, Always will and I do mean in the very base meaning of the word, hate, itâs cheap, lazy content that was bad when it was a Challenge mode and no one did it because it didnât offer any gear, the system was deemed a failure by the whole playerbase give or take a few outliers who did actually find a challenge in it.
Iâve done a few +12/14 this patch since Iâve been back with friends to help fill spots, not because I want to do the horrible content, because I wanted to help my friends who also didnât want to do the content, they did it for the Vault and the gear and do not want to pug in strangers as thatâs just begging for rage, leavers, toxicity in general that you all seem to swear doesnât exist, and it wasnât fun on any level, Itâs a means to an end because the inflated ilvl from the vault and the time gating on crests (or lack there of) in other content.
We then have this forum, a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the playerbase.
This thread and this incoming change is testament to one thing, people are not engaging with dungeons because they simply are no longer fun, unless you are part of what the general populace calls The Sweat Lodge.
Heroics were turned into tanks in 480 gear speed running it for a bribery baggie, letting everyone else in the team die.
M0 was turned into Spam run Ruby life pools over and over for the weekly if itâs up then lol.
M+ is dependent on a third party system turning everyone into a number in a tooltip and if you arenât the number needed you have no hope of entry unless being hard carried by friends if you are new or returning (if you are lucky enough to still have friends playing who havenât quit).
The fact entire communities have sprung up like WoW Made Easy to counter it because the game is rife with horrible behavior from the majority trying to hard gate keep it, trolling keys, bricking keys, making it by and large inaccessible to anyone who isnât already doing it speaks volumes⊠that players had to step in and fix the mistakes of our short sighted devâs and our design teams is laughable.
This change to heroics isnât to make content more engaging for people who wanted a traditional dungeon crawler, itâs to force over geared, selfish tanks slow down and stop ruining it for those who actually want to play the game instead of follow some guy who doesnât even acknowledge they exist.
