Dragonflight Season 4 Dungeon Changes Ahead

You see how many people it has confused and made them think M2-M10 will not have timers? You think their word choice was a mistake to achieve that outcome?

Seems like the marketing team got told to do a spin job on how to make an item level increase seem different than the last seasons they did this exact same thing. Felt weird reading through it all.

Casual players weren’t whining about heroics being too easy, hardly anyone was

Bliz is trying to ‘train’ players into the harder dungeon difficulties because over half of wow players ignore M+ almost entirely

Bliz just hopes this will funnel more players into the incredibly low cost M+ endgame system

Players ask for more content, bliz just tries to manipulate more of them into the only endgame mode that has zero new content

A bunch of grindy monetization games have been doing this lately based on behavioral studies showing the ‘magic’ difficulty is where players gain a dopamine spurt of success after overcoming difficulty

Meanwhile those games, like destiny, have been shedding players like crazy every since they made the endgame harder and more grindy

It will back fire huge for people that just do a few low keys, they will say screw it and pick up a PS5 controller. No mods needed no watching long videos for a bloated system.

then blizzard will wonder why the only new SUB’s are all just returning players that will quit again.

Them reusing older expansion dungeons has made it pretty clear to me how boring they were.

Only reason I and many other players come back to WoW is because M+. Its the only game out there with a system like this where every others end game is lacking in comparison. Raiding is better in other MMOs. PVP is definitely better in others. But none of them have something like M+
despite so many of us begging other game makers to add it into their games.

If they did, it would put the linch pin in wow. Wouldnt be anymore reason to play this game other than the classes.

Can you clarify if it’s intended that mythic track will come from +8s in season 4, and that +8s also don’t even have the 3rd affix?

Because that is what your chart shows.

Man, are they removing one affix from 8 (the actual 18+)??? Please dont do that! Keep the three affix please!

What a weird change. This just makes everything harder on the lower end but easier on the upper end. You don’t even see a third affix and can get Mythic quality gear.

The issue is farming Drake crests; MOs are the source, they won’t drop in M+ so if you are gearing up good luck getting enough of thoae on an alt mid season

Just reading through this thread, watching both sides of it, the people pushing M+ keys belittling those who don’t and complaining it will now be “easier”, and the ones who don’t knowing this will be a far more solid barrier to entry meaning even less new players will join in with it, says to me one thing


M+ has done more damage to this game than any other system ever added to it.

It’s more harmful than the Tuesday Skinner box lottery vault.

It’s more harmful than the backwards progression scaling in leveling dungeons that’s depressing for anyone watching everything get nuked by a lvl 10 priest with 1 spell.

It’s more harmful than War Mode bribing people into PvP with PvE rewards.

And now, just to enter this horrible system you have to do the equivalent of a +10 so there’s even less reason for people wanting their carry to help out an actual new to the system player.

I hate M+, always have, Always will and I do mean in the very base meaning of the word, hate, it’s cheap, lazy content that was bad when it was a Challenge mode and no one did it because it didn’t offer any gear, the system was deemed a failure by the whole playerbase give or take a few outliers who did actually find a challenge in it.

I’ve done a few +12/14 this patch since I’ve been back with friends to help fill spots, not because I want to do the horrible content, because I wanted to help my friends who also didn’t want to do the content, they did it for the Vault and the gear and do not want to pug in strangers as that’s just begging for rage, leavers, toxicity in general that you all seem to swear doesn’t exist, and it wasn’t fun on any level, It’s a means to an end because the inflated ilvl from the vault and the time gating on crests (or lack there of) in other content.

We then have this forum, a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the playerbase.

This thread and this incoming change is testament to one thing, people are not engaging with dungeons because they simply are no longer fun, unless you are part of what the general populace calls The Sweat Lodge.

Heroics were turned into tanks in 480 gear speed running it for a bribery baggie, letting everyone else in the team die.

M0 was turned into Spam run Ruby life pools over and over for the weekly if it’s up then lol.

M+ is dependent on a third party system turning everyone into a number in a tooltip and if you aren’t the number needed you have no hope of entry unless being hard carried by friends if you are new or returning (if you are lucky enough to still have friends playing who haven’t quit).

The fact entire communities have sprung up like WoW Made Easy to counter it because the game is rife with horrible behavior from the majority trying to hard gate keep it, trolling keys, bricking keys, making it by and large inaccessible to anyone who isn’t already doing it speaks volumes
 that players had to step in and fix the mistakes of our short sighted dev’s and our design teams is laughable.

This change to heroics isn’t to make content more engaging for people who wanted a traditional dungeon crawler, it’s to force over geared, selfish tanks slow down and stop ruining it for those who actually want to play the game instead of follow some guy who doesn’t even acknowledge they exist.

So any word on if we are going to be able to upgrade the legendary axe and legendary fist weapon to the new high item levels for season 4?

I think this improvement is great overall because heroic dungeons and mythic 0 runs have felt stale lately. Now, it seems like more people will actually engage with this content, making it more relevant. When you consider the gear differences between heroic, mythic 0, and mythic 20 shown in the gear table, it’s clear that starting mythic plus with better gear will make players feel more prepared and less underpowered. Also, the current abundance of dungeon tiers in season 3 makes some levels feel insignificant. For instance, I don’t find much difference between mythic 0 and a plus 5, doing level 17s doesn’t feel challenging when you have decent gear so imagine levels below that. That’s why I appreciate this change—I think Blizzard is on the right track. We tend to criticize them when they fall short, so it’s important to acknowledge when they get things right too. On another note, Blizzard, please address the overall state of monks. A rework is sorely needed, especially for Windwalker and Brewmaster specs.

im hoping so. i just got the axe tonight. im building this either way due to the time sink but ti would be nice to be able to use it

People who haven’t been doing m+, but have been asking for heroic and M0 to be relevant for a win. I’m not sure why so many people are insisting they’re getting shut out of content that they’ve been making it very clear for years that they’re not interested in.

This is great. By the way as a suggestion any chance you can make Deadmines into M+ in a future season or update? It would be coll to run some of the classic content again as Mythic+ Dungeon.

If you were doing old mythic 0, then you do heroic now.
