Dragonflight Season 4 Dungeon Changes Ahead

Ok blizz, I hear you here, and I am quite happy with the changes. Itll take some time getting used to but I’m here for it.

Those same folks who’d be willing to queue have never been willing to post first come, first served groups and just roll, but they’ll blame everyone else for gatekeeping?

Just seems odd.

How? No seriously how is one “gatekeep” out of any content?

I see some complaints about the difficulty being increased for the next season but I really think it’s unwarranted to be fair. Think of how easy this season was… It was extremely easy to push a key to a 20. I spent a quarter of the time getting all the portals than I did on Season 1. This season was kind of a joke when it came to difficulty with many being able to push to an 18 key week one. That was unheard of in Season 1 unless you were in the top 5 percentile. I think they saw this and decided to squish the dungeon difficulty in a sense to scale them to a more fitting difficulty. One that mirrored Season 1. It is also much needed with the gear scaling as it wouldn’t make sense for Blizzard not to do the “Squish” as I like to call it.

Does anyone else remember BFA Season 1 where you had to spend 2 hours in a 10 key to complete it? It felt bad but in a good way. Getting the gear at the end of that felt very rewarding. I’m ready to feel that again. LOL

That’s the thing. Accessibility has never been better. The formula works. If people aren’t participating, you can’t help that. These changes are arbitrary and giving people a false sense of accomplishment.

So going forward if the gear ilvl equipment is going to go up for heroic but normal will remain the same where is the higher level gear going to come from? If heroic is going to be equivalent of M0 then normal dungeon gear won’t be enough to reach the threshold for queuing.

Other than that good change but it is only a short term solution to M+ being a terrible system and overhauling it will have to come at some point, the sooner the better.

Literally doing the campaign gives you gear that’s more than good enough to enter M0

Think the crest upgrades and raiding is supposed to bridge the gap.

I think it’s more that low keys are getting removed.

The new baseline (M0) is being moved up to where +10 currently is.

At the core everything is pretty much the same so I’m a bit confused by this. Hopefully it’ll be one of the many nails in the coffin for m+ as we move into the delve system(kappa).

What are you on about - Delves are not replacing M+ at any point ever

I suppose in S4 it’ll work if they unlock all 3 LFR’s week 1, but moving forward it’s gonna suck for casuals having to wait for LFR to unlock all the way just to do an M0

They were replying to someone who literally said “maybe M+ isn’t for you if you can’t do timed content” they just didn’t hit the reply button

Heroic will drop 476 gear and that gear upgrades to 489 with crests. The gear from m0 drops 493 and upgrades to 502 with crests, according to the article.

So according to that, you spam heroics and boost the gear with crests to bridge the gap to get into m0, then do the same until you are ready for m+2 (now 10’s)

I may be misunderstanding it though.

If 10s aren’t going to have a timer, how will the score be calculated?

That would be the equivalent of doing a current M+10 at 450, wouldn’t it? Not all that difficult for good players but good luck for everyone else lol
