Dragonflight Season 4 Dungeon Changes Ahead

Would have liked to have seen them remove all affixes and just have a seasonal one - honestly sick of the mythic+ affixes they are such a drag… blerghhhhhh will see how it goes with the changes, not hyped at this point though!

Well currently the difference between heroic and M0 is sincerely pretty small, the only major difference is requirement to form a group instead of be put into one via the queue system.

The new M0 will be hard but it will also be self formed groups and there won’t be a keystone involved to enter / potentially be depleted by failures. You’ll also be able to fill in progress runs and converely also join them if you want to.

That’s legit all they do dawg. They always victimize themselves acting like there’s some cabal of elite players trying to push casuals out of the game. When in reality no one cares.

For people who didn’t want to engage with timers but wanted dungeon content harder than what they had access to.

This could get more players trying M+

M+ was literally set up for timed content. If someone can’t figure out what they’re doing by a +4, maybe the content isn’t for them and that’s okay. I don’t know why there’s dumbing down on content because if people want to do the content, they’ll do it. They’ll learn their class and learn routes and how to do mechanics.

Because we are paying money to play this game. Maybe gatekeeping people out of content should go the way of the dodo.

As long it is not possible to queue up for Mythic dungeons, they will remain a lost case for the majority of the playerbase.

The toxicity and gatekeeping is what drives people away from Mythic, not the difficulty.

So is everyone else that’s able to do the content. There’s zero gatekeeping in mythic+. If you can’t figure out mechanics and how your class rotation is, then removing a timer isn’t going to make you , or anyone else, better.

I like the refill in heroic with the queue system.

In M0, because of the lockout, it might be harder to refill… unless its per boss basis… not sure how that works but I have seen groups in LFG for in-progress m0 having a hard time refilling.

I was hoping the season 4 dungeon article would give some cool info. Like a seasonal twist, theme, new dungeon mode, or anything really. But instead we get some half baked potato that doesn’t even address the mentioned Player Feedback loop.

The 3 main points in the Player Feedback Loop:

  1. Heroic dungeons are barely distinct from Normal dungeons at maximum level, and that distinction mostly only matters during a few days after players first reach max level.

Heroics can be repeated so it’s only going to matter a few days after players hit max level regardless of the difficulty/rewards. The article doesn’t mention anything that would chance this.

  1. “Mythic 0” dungeons rapidly lose relevance a few weeks into an expansion, once the M+ season starts, with occasional exceptions for the weekly event quest.

There is nothing in the article that states changes to Mythic 0 other than the difficulty/reward adjustments. There is still a Mythic 0 lockout in season 4 so yeah they’re pointless once the season starts…

  1. The only truly endgame dungeon mode (M+) currently revolves around a timer. This means that other than new mega-dungeons, there isn’t really a place for endgame players who enjoy a more methodical dungeon pacing and gameplay.

The article doesn’t mention any endgame changes to the M+ dungeon mode outside of the difficulty/rewards. Mythic +2 through +10 still have timers and affixes

There’s nothing new here other than some dmg/hp tuning for heroic and mythic 0 that lose relevance when you get into end game.

Affixes would slot in at +2, +5, and +10

The only insight that I gained from this article is that Mythic +8/+9 that give Myth 2/4 gear from the vault only have 2 affixes instead of the normal 3. Less challenging dungeons for max gear. ez

All the dungeons are probably going to get harder to accommodate the new gear ilvl so their nice info graph regarding the difficulties of old vs new doesn’t really apply at all anyways.

These changes really will need some adjustment to the Keystone Master achievement that’s associated with the Legion Artifact Weapon looks etc.

Currently it requires completing an M+15 within the timer.

How is the content being kept from people?

  1. Know your class (rotation, priority cd’s)
  2. Know mechanics required to defeat a pack of enemies (interrupt, stun, move out of stuff)

That is literally it. To try and hyperbolise the content is only doing people a disservice to themselves thinking they can’t do content.

Get rid of Flightstones. Crests are enough of a capped currency to time gate loot. Flightstones are just annoying.

What Gatekeeping?

The lockouts for M0 are boss by boss loot lockouts like normal and heroic raids, not ID lockouts like Mythic raiding.
