If it’s a bad drop rate blizzard hasn’t done anything about that. That’s another issue. But I don’t see why you can’t rogue stack like supposedly hunters are hunting stacking for the bow?
Daggers have a horrible drop rate. That can easily be fixed by weapon tokens without a class restriction. Blizz can fix that easily yet chooses not to.
They aren’t addressing niche weapons at all with N/G. Nor PL

As I said, PL punishes you for not class stacking.

Yes they are, because the drop rate is flat, it will drop way more.
Blizz punishes you by making niche classes with niche weapons and not compensating raid drops with weapon tokens. Don’t get it twisted.

No, that’s design choice.
Might as well argue Blizzard punishes people by not mailing people an entire set of BIS gear upon hitting max level.
Blizz designs the game with horrible drop rates. That is the constant complaint from raiders. They aren’t addressing that with this change.
Items themselves will have much more reasonable drop rates as a result of this change. Seeing the boss drop everything on their loot table will occur at greater frequency now.
Think X weeks until a team sees everything on the boss’s loot table post change vs pre-change.
Last time we had N/G daggers had a lower drop rate because rogues were a niche class.
I doubt that. Blizz can fix it easy for all comps by making weapon tokens without a class restriction. That’s an easy math fix.
retail design considers a player being able to get full BIS the worst thing possible unfortunately. so this is what we get. it will likely never change.
lower drop rate perhaps, but it wasn’t abysmally bad compared to PL.
Yea the design is literally just targeting class stacking and not player concerns. It’s not a very holistic approach. They don’t want players gearing fast so they slow it down. N/G is a loot nerf.

me to group “votekick mudercarpet theyre AFK”
N/G is a loot buff for normal comps, a minimal change for stacked comps.
Forcing one comp style is not really fun. Not encouraging class stacking just is counterstacking for loot. One mail comps. One leather comps. Funneling is still going to happen. They created another issue instead of fixing perceived problems. The bad drop rates.
It’s pretty upsetting to me, being able to get a character in the best possible gear should be somewhat difficult but still feasible. People have alts to play if they complete their main character’s progression. Instead they decide the best solution is to keep people on the wheel for as long as possible.
It isn’t wrong to encourage class diversity (which most guilds will have anyway.)
The “bad” drop rates don’t need fixing. It’s a design choice as opposed to literally mailing everyone all the gear they need just by hitting max level.
I get most of my gear from vault. But yea there are problems with N/G that really aren’t addressing the big complaints. I do play all the classes. N/G as is just makes me want to be in comps where I am the sole weapon/armor type. So I just hope it doesn’t touch mythic plus where I get my gear.
Else I have no incentive to invite shamans, evokers or hunters in my pugs. It’s not really a fun mechanic this encourages. They just need to make drop rates better with PL and make it tradeable without restrictions for pugs. Raids should have opt in options for group/master loot. Weapons should drop as tokens like baleful armaments in WoD.

Hmm there are issues with it. Like picking the best of each armor type for your comp.
Healers
cloth - priest
leather - druid/monk
mail - evokers/shamans
plate- paladin
Tanks
leather - druid/monk/dh
Plate - dk, paladin, war
If these classes were to optimize there own drops. This leaves stuff like mail healers more attractive and mail dps not so much.
Plate dps become unattractive team mates since tanks are more valuable and you would want to gear them more.
It just opens up to a different optimization meta for comps still farming gear.
Whereas personal loot let you bring whoever you wanted without much thought.
personal loot without loot manipulation just leads to people complaining on the forums how tier doesn’t exist.
The creation catalyst is going to unlock early and faster for tier gear. Doing mythic 0s with a diverse comp would probably be your best for tier. Or split runs where you are funneled gear being the sole leather/cloth/mail/plate user.
Uh ?
DPS get priority. You can heal an undergeared tank through a lot before gear starts holding him back. Geared DPS always improves raid performance.
You got your priorities swapped. No one has prioritized tanks for loot since like Vanilla.
They said 8 weeks.
8 weeks is dumb.
