They just can’t help themselves can they? There always has to be some BS that they do to screw with stuff in the game instead of just listening and doing right by their player base.
Lfr shouldn’t have loot, and shouldn’t exist. The original point stands. The OP doesn’t raid, so claiming that raiding is DOA due to a continued lack of participation on the OP’s part is stupid.
I’m talking about if this were to go to mythic plus for example in 5 mans.
I am sure raids will want 2-3 of each class maybe. I am sure there are ideal comp breakpoints for loot. But gear funneling can still work by maximizing raid size, and giving say all plate/leather/mail/cloth pieces to 4 raid members of that group and the rest alts.
We didn’t optimize for drops when ML was a thing, you’ll still optimize for encounter with GL. If anything, in pugs, you’ll just want to not invite competition, so comp will depend on the leader.
You’re just describing split runs. 4 mains, 16 alts.
Yeah I don’t think raiding itself is DOA, but it is going to put a really healthy dent into the people who pug like me who are not enamored with these idiotic ideas of theirs. How is need/greed a step forward in any direction?
its literally the exact same as personal loot, you just now have to click on roll need to get the chance to get the loot instead of the game doing it for you. you can roll on items you cant use. they said so here
“First off, you can never Need for anything your class cannot wear. No warriors sniping cloth robes with a need roll and giving it away or trolling.”
you also cant win multiple of the same item
“Players won’t be able to win multiples of the same item - say that 2 sets of Shoulders drop. While you can roll Need on both of them, winning one will ‘remove’ your roll from the other.”
Yea maybe I can afford to have plate tanks and plate dps in my groups hmmm.
Yea I was just theory crafting on how the available roles can effect the dps that play those classes. If they bring this to 5 mans. You may want 1 of each armor type, try to avoid weapon similarities, and have one person have half odds of getting armor.
Yea loot funneling is still going to cause split runs, just without the stacking part. 4 mains with whoever for the other characters. They ain’t getting loot lol.
Except it’s not. There are clear differences. Such as you can win every item off a boss with good enough luck, and there can be drops no one can even need roll on. Both of these scenarios are impossible under Personal Loot.
Which will trigger people if you do and they feel you don’t actually need the loot.
Why are they so set on having it one way or the other? Why are they so against giving players and raid leaders the option to toggle how loot will work.
You probably should, because outside plate, they don’t really share loot.
5 mans in WoD, the height of the ML controversy, were already PL. 5 mans aren’t getting GL. Imagine running M+ and getting a Warglaive and a Bow with neither hunter in group. People would very legitimately rage at this.
It will actually be much better. Loot trading restrictions made even armor stacking inefficient. Old ML was much superior for splits and funneling.
I’ll be looking forward to your “I got kicked from a group for needing” thread. Or alternatively, the “A raider came into LFR and needed all the loot, even though it wasn’t a upgrade for him” thread.
yes because they didnt read the whole post and saw “we are removing personal loot” (a bad choice imo i like more options) and think the end is here. its not masterloot its need/greed
im good i have a guild and ill get my loot eventually or better from m+
the more options you literally said they would get, where you can roll need on more than one item. its not guaranteed with personal loot or need/greed but you get chances on all ur useable loot rather than 1 roll to get 1 item
