Dragonflight Pre-Fails + Player Housing

Lets start with the obvious. Blizzard got on their knees and on the DF reveal said they’re gonna listen to player feedback and all the good memes that DF is gonna get some loving.

Lets see where we’re at. Outside of the major streamers’ classes if you take a look at the class forums and Wowhead people are dumping on the new talent trees. I can’t even look at the paladin ones. Prot? Ret? They butchered an opportunity to mend their relationship with the playerbase and literally spat on us with this garbage.

So far DF is looking like some new zones which is like ok? Thanks? Dragon Riding like okay its cool but what’s the point if I’m riding a dragon and my talents are just garbage? The only positive thing I have to say about the absolute trash we’ve been shown so far is the professions work orders and all that looks very promising.

Player housing. Why can’t the biggest development team in the MMORPG space tackle this again? ESO has it , FF14 has it and they actually pump out decent content. Blizz has literally afk’d for the last year and a half in terms of Shadowlands development and we’ve seen nothing but these garbage talents and some new mount mechanic? Like guys come onnn wtf are you doing? I’m giving it another month if the best news we have out of Dragonflight is these unambitious boring sorry excuses for talents, work orders and some new mount mechanic I’m refunding and I’m out maybe I’ll try other MMOs that actually listen to feedback not just do the lip service.

FFXIV housing is a pretty big F in many ways, tbh.

100% a shortcoming from what it should be but at least its there. The point is they have it we aren’t even remotely close to having it.

Just like 99% of the playerbase on 14! :drum:
(I’ll see myself out)

Why do players assume that “listen to player feedback” = implement everything players want? Some of the ideas that spring up in GD, or Twitter, or Reddit are half-baked niche things that a small percentage of players would even be interested in.

Go for it. Nobody will notice you’re gone.

I wish they would implement player housing, it’s also something imo that can be continually built on, maybe new locations added every so often etc.

The longer it takes them to get it going initially that much more behind it is imo, I kinda forget w SWTOR but I think originally they only had 2 options for player housing and then gradually added new locations / lay outs but that was over time

Blizz does that every xpac, the fact people keep mentioning it is why they do it: Wow players don’t notice so Blizz can keep Groundhog Day’ing them forever

Yeah just kinda ran out of credit with me I never thought I’d stop playing this game but me and my friends are at the end of our line with this. You should see the paladin in our group he’s malding.

WildStar had the best player housing in any game by a mile, was unreal for casuals and it didn’t help their sub numbers much.

No one feature is going to carry a game :-1:
You need a lot of things to have a successful long lasting game. (Me talking like I know  )

We know if Blizzard added PH, the best items would still come from instanced content, the best art assets from Mythic raids, or high keys, or rated PVP. The players who seem to want this the most would benefit the least from it.

Nah, it would most definitely inspire them to hop into content they otherwise wouldn’t ever consider doing, wink wink.

I’ve commented on this in the past

Things coming from “places” not just instances is what I would want. And if new raids have stuff :person_shrugging: oh well, I’ll just get it 6 years later when I can solo it, no big.

Pretty much what I had in mind and this is very similar to the ESO housing the crafting and such.

too many redditors on these forums asking for player housing. All player housing would be simply is just hey lets make this place look nice and then forgotten for the next year by the majority of the playerbase. Only cool thing would be a guild hall or a place to RP in a instance where you can invite people. Since a guild hall you could post images of your guild/achivements and have a place to be able to repair buy consumes from a mini AH, and a RP town would be a cooler goldshire due to it being cross faction and no one being layered out

Do you know what feedback means? It doesn’t mean that they should always agree with it. Time and time again have players given feedback that wasn’t in the best interest of the game. That’s not to say they shouldn’t have in some cases.

DF is looking very solid. It’s going back to basics, which imo is a great thing. Just logging in and having fun without mandatory grinds, that’s something I’ve sorely missed for a few expansion.

Not sure where you are looking, but they’re making weekly changes to the talent trees thanks to feedback. And I’ve seen alot of positivity regarding them. Some could use a few changes, others are looking really good.
