We’re on track to having the lowest total number of raid bosses (RAID only, not world “bosses”) in an expansion (26 to the next lowest, WoD’s 30) if 10.2 is the last patch. I actually couldn’t believe it when I added them up.
Dragon flight has been a blast.
Best is subjective, I personally enjoyed every xpac to date.
Just like any other addiction though, when the drug runs out the user loses it.
Welcome to WoW general forums during seasonal lull.
Not at all. The experience anyone has playing this expansion depends on what and how they like to play.
I have seen nothing since a data point at the end of the first month that was in the investor report. Have you seen anything since then?
What I heard is that they were surprised at how many people didn’t buy the expansion. I interpret that to be a reflection of the failure of hype to make early sales. But they were also surprised that people haven’t been coming back. But the current minigame design of end content isn’t for everyone.
They keep trying to tell a morally grey story. I think they forget that the player character literally makes zero choices. They just kill what they are told to kill. The story they are telling is pretty weird to, when it comes to brass tax Alexstraza and friends pretty much decided she had the right to rule a land that she abandoned for 10k years.
The big problem for DF is that BfA and SL exist. You’re not gonna get back the thousands of players who bailed due to the damage those two expansions did the game. I mean, maybe if blizz handed out a free 3 months worth of game time to everyone? Or…something.
Legion.
Your argument is moot.
Legion again.
WoW you’re really bad at this. You do realize Legion existed right?
Blizzard also said feedback from players was that the playerbase simply loved the covenant system of Shadowlands.
The biggest drop-off in players happened after Dragonflight was released, I rly do not get how ppl are still trying to scapegoat BFA for the failures of Dragonflight at this point.
Give DF for free. Not half off when the expansion is just about done and it’s lost most of its value as a purchase, free. 0$ to transition from Classic to Retail or FF14 to Retail.
It’s the best expansion since legion and I would probably say it’s a pretty good expansion overall. I’d place it ahead of several of the supposed, “good expansions” as well, leveling is the best it’s been and the raids have all been fun while characters feel good as well. The only issue, is with the meta.
To each their own really.
But i would say legion and bfa were a lot more fun than dragonflight.
Dragonflight was good at launch, horrid in 10.1, recovered with 10.1.5, and 10.1.7 is negligible.
10.2 is what will let me know if its better than shadowlands or not.
Shadowlands mission tables was unironically good. Gave all alts a purpose and gave an incentive to level as many characters as possible.
Also gave an incentive to do world content to farm anima, incentive to run thorghast for more followers. Gave incentive to grind renown on alts for higher lvl followers and so on and so on.
It’s good but it’s not legion.
Yeh I also did the maths for raid bosses and was kinda shocked.
We dont even have any fun season affixes for m+ either lol (s1 had a seasonal affix but it was terrible). Only 8 dungeons on release then a single mega-dungeon. Even BFA had 10 dungeons on release and finished with 12.
Like 10 dungeons in an expansion that follows an expansion that was cut short? How…
Meanwhile Blizzard spends time creating events that no one really seems to be doing, and that invalidate all earlier casual content, thus giving casuals even less stuff to do. What is going on at Blizz?
Ppl will say quality over quantity, but the DF dungeons are not even good lul.
Companies exaggerate and distort information all the time on their earnings calls. You can’t be this naive.
As long as the company is making profit, no one is going care what the metrics are saying. Truth is, Blizzard has made a ton of money off a smaller player base in WoW through microtransactions.
The story and open world are better than BFA. But the gameplay is still Shadowlands level of bad. I rarely log in and I am thinking about just dropping my sub till the next xpac at this point.
Thats a big one, and I am still upset that they didnt reverse the loot nerf from 9.0. Lets not get started on the healing changes that made healing much less fun.
It is true, DF is the first expansion that i’m enjoying since MoP.
I can just play the game. No chores.
Why would I be baffled by a truthful statement?
SL was God awful.
BFA was Dang awful.
DF isn’t a shade of awful. It’s just not particularly good.
But it isn’t polarizing, which is part of the issue in my opinion, they took no risks.
BFA could have been great if Azerite gear wasn’t a last-minute afterthought but they actually got it out in Alpha and had a good test-cycle.
SL could have been really good if they put more effort into the Maw, Torghast and the storyline.
As a druid, I’m baffled. I lost one of my core class distinctions which is the ability to shapeshift into travel form and fly. Being forced to use a Dragon to fly has been such a HUGE turn off to me. The M+ seasons haven’t been fun (basically rush to KSM at launch, than never touch it again until next season) and oh yeah, KSM gives us a ground mount yet raiding and gladiator get a skin for their dragon? Renown forces you to play one character to max it out. I could go on.
I’ve spent most of this expansion working on completion in former expansions vs doing current stuff.
