"Dragonflight is the best expansion in a long time"

I don’t know, there’s soup, there’s dragon, there’s centaur hunting, there’s siege… events up the hoo-haa.

Opposite of Legion/BFA/SL where you had 1 giant treadmill for everyone. Now you get 10 different treadmill and you choose which one you want.

something that does confuse me here is ‘DF is boring’.
okay, thats valid.
Why are you playing it again? lol.
If a movie is boring Im hardly gonna suffer thru it once, let alone coming back to it again and again.
If I find bike riding boring, why would I subject myself to it?

just an odd thing to say that something is boring while one is partaking of it intentionally.

This is my favorite expansion ever, and I started playing back in 2007.

It’s just fun. There are so many different and unique activities like myrrit digs, climbing, cataloging, dragon races, raids, m+, pvp, community feast, whelping daycare, man the list just goes on and on. This is the first expansion that I’ve done so many things.

As far as balance is concerned, it’s a lot better than other times I’ve seen, and worse than some others. But, I quit caring about balance years and years ago. Patches come and go, strong specs change from time to time. It’s never mattered outside of pro play, despite what the delusional average GD poster thinks.

This expansion is my favorite.

Either way its the best expac since Legion.

And you do them all if you want to max out your renowns.

What are you missing out on if you don’t max out renown? Because I haven’t yet, and I still did raid and pvp and m+.

Which is my point. In the other systemlands, you HAD to do the rep and quests to be able to raid.

Technically, nothing. Though there are patterns for professions locked behind it (and if everyone ignored the renown, they wouldn’t be available to be crafted), and what’s most interesting that you seemed to have missed despite you talking about how good the RPG is this expansion, is that the story line is locked behind renown.

But you’re right, you could get a character boosted to 70, buy some carries and get AOTC, KSM and even PvP ranking, and have a decent iLvL. You would never have to touch the renown, story lines, nothing. Heck pretty sure you could do that in prior expansion as well.

It isn’t. Legion was the best expansion in a long time. I’m finding too much stuff gated in this expansion, I’ve already taken like a 6 month break and only now returned and am about to sign off again probably for the remainder of the year at least.

I swear every time I see this, I wonder if they played legion prior to the last patch or so, as prior to that the systems in place were so bad, and so RNG based. I admit the end was good, but it seems everyone has rose-tinted glasses and only remembers that part of it.

Dragonflight feels like a bunch of chores to me. I log on and get bombarded with quest pop ups, you fly over the zones and you get more junk popping up. All these NPC’s want my attention and I just want them to leave me the heck alone, LOL.

If I want to do X I have to do A, H, and F before I can. It doesn’t feel like I have a choice in how I play such a huge open world game anymore. I’ve been leveling alts in vanilla (not classic) and having a blast, but as soon as I hit 60 and have to play Dragonflight, I get bored again and overwhelmed with the thought of the things that are going to be thrown in my face.

Been playing since Vanilla and Dragonflight is truly the “I can’t even be bothered” expansion.

And so many catch up systems in so little time, Forbidden Reach, Zaralek Caverns, Time Rifts, Dreamsurges, all in what 6 months?

Yes. Don’t even get me started on the 435345345 currencies. I don’t know what half that crap does.

I liked the grind. It made it so you could only focus on one character and I did not have to get overwhelmed.

I’m an altoholic, so the last thing I want to do is be tied to one character that much. I did the full classhall on all classes, did a lot of the mage towers, and tried to find time to raid. Legion was exhausting early on.

Nice try to derail my point. I didn’t mention carries because what I said is you can do it all by yourself. So let me fix that for you :

You could get a character Leveled to 70, run dungeons only, join raids to get AOTC, KSM and even PvP ranking, and have a decent iLvL. You would never have to touch the renown, story lines, nothing. Heck pretty sure you could NEVER do that in prior expansion .

100% sure you could.

You wouldn’t get invited to any groups if you didn’t level up your Artifact weapon which was locked behind story line and a huge grind.

You wouldn’t get invited to raids if you didn’t do story lines to unlock zones or leveled your cloak in BFA.

You wouldn’t get invited in anything in Shadowlands if you didn’t get your legendary, progress through your covenant sanctum which are all locked behind quests and campaign.

These type of resistance don’t exist in Dragonflight.

It’s tied with Cata as my least enjoyed xpac.

Raz was good. I just hated her wing flapping animation being in my face. Sark’s not bad. Echo i feel the walls should visually be taller for an Aspect of Earth…

You can thank whomever came up with the M+ system.

Honestly, to me and my play style, it ruined open world play big time.

They thought they had a sure fire e-sport, and now, they can not give the prize money away because it is pitiful, and the viewership is in the toilet.

Yup ALL with the same ilvl gear to! Total waste of dev time, and a HUGE waste of player time. Hate to say, but Korthia and ZM were FAR better imo.

MoP had just about everything right, and i miss that formula a lot.
