"Dragonflight is the best expansion in a long time"

Agreed, though I did enjoy the rare farms on Forbidden Reach, as at least it was worth farming, but everything else, grind city and not fun. Zaralek Caverns would have been ok if they hadn’t destroyed what made Forbidden Reach ok by making the rares not farmable.

totally agree. They intentionally sabotaged their own patches.

That is what has me baffled, and thinking they only want us to play the Wildstar part of this so-called MMO.

I wish it was still up, I’d be playing still.

Oh yeah I played it all the way through. I found the system with the artifact weapon was a lot of fun, I loved progressing it. finding the treasures was fun too. Most everything else was already in place, the game was already RNG and grindy. But some of the new stuff introduced was enjoyable and I liked the story.

I honestly think WoD could have been one of the best expansions if they’d just, you know, bothered to actually finish it. Real shame there.

I think this expansion is on the same tier as BFA, which is a tier above Shadowlands and Warlords for me. Not quite bottom of the barrel, but getting damn near close.

The reason for this “drunken stupor” that people, including myself, seem to be in when they say Dragonflight is a good expansion is because… well… compared to what we’ve seen since Legion it is.

I just hope Blizzard continues to ascend back up the stair case, so to speak, and not go back down…

I think players vastly overstated and took way more seriously than necessary the power grinds in BFA and legion.

Due to exponential scaling on AP just playing the game however you want would keep you within 3-4 points of players farming maw of souls or islands until their eyes bled.

Renown just kind of happened in SL doing anything because everything gave anima for the weekly. You’d be 1 renown behind if you never did the 2 minute weekly in the maw to free souls. Doing Torghast was the actual chore.

I’m good with everything being optional in DF with no power grind.

Most big companies are but it seems like Blizzard makes very little effort to hide it

If someone who really liked Legion left over BfA/Shadowlands, even if they came back in response to a free offer, they’re not going to find an expansion like the Legion they enjoyed so much.

BfA & SL also had very different flaws.

I knew plenty of people who quit the game in BfA because of its massive and unrelenting grinds (azerite, essences, M+). Barely anybody I knew quit in Shadowlands, because Shadowlands didn’t have grinds.

Some of the people I knew who quit in BfA have since come back and have been enjoying the game, because the reason they quit (massive grinds) isn’t there, anymore.

I think you’d be hard to find any common reasons between people who quit in BfA and people who quit in Shadowlands.

Dragonflight > Shadowlands

LOL nope!!

Flying from the start is the best thing about this expansion. Other than that meh imo. They just substituted ap with endless currencies needed for this, and that.

Legion was the best

I mean tbh, overall yes DF is a good expansion.
But for me personally I liked SL better.
Gearing was harder, dungeons were much better design wise, raids were harder, just really everything was harder.
I don’t like “oh hey you can get giga bis gear if you play for two weeks”
Not to mention DF lacks soul, whos really the big bad? We don’t even know yet. in SL we knew immediatly within the first 30 quests.

DF ain’t perfect but no grindy borrowed power system made me pretty happy. I can play a lot or a little and it doesn’t matter once geared. Raid log or not it’s all good
