It’s just not a good expansion. It’s mediocre at best and that is just not enough after 2 flops (bfa & shadowlands) in a row + the overall bad reputation of this company. The title of this thread is kinda silly. Players don’t quit a game, because it “is so good”.
I also forgot to mention XP banking. Did you know I “used” to have 70 banked? This was back a couple of months ago. XP banking, which never happened before EVER, was also a gimmick to promote sales. So I already dinged 70 without actually dinging 70, just because I refused to seal the deal.
So whether DF is good or bad, it’s unique that it did everything it could to FORCE you to buy it. All of a sudden, you’re at an auto dealership. Ah, the ye-olde-tymes when you’d gladly play $40-50 for the xpac even for FOMO reasons alone.
Man, that is such a vibe. IDK how to explain it.
Every so often I’ll pop in, I did so yesterday. My wife and I were like “we should play WoW this weekend” when our youngest goes to her grandfathers, and we checked in to see what was up
I did the time rift thing and then I was just like “what now?” I see that I have a lot to do, but I also feel like I have nothing to really work on. Could get my gear up a bit, but for what reason? I don’t do M+ or raid right now, but maybe we’ll do LFR this weekend.
I do need to finish the blue dragon quest chain so I’ll probably do that. I want to see what’s up with the new quest chain so that end of megadungeon video makes a bit more sense. But once I get that done I’m not really sure what else to do.
The game feels so fun to look at and the stuff I do play is fun, but I’m seriously lacking goals. I have nothing really important to add to my bloated collection system, I feel no draw to wrapping up reps or getting my gear up.
I’ve also never been a huge endgame player though. The only time I was was in Legion, because the artifact system and the class and profession stories were pretty captivating.
I don’t think the game is garbage.
I get home every night looking to play for about 4 hours a night. Typically I run mythics for 4 hours, with the exception of two nights I raid.
I don’t care for any story. I skip the cut seems. I don’t believe I have read a single line wow has to offer, and in all honesty I really could care less.
However even without reading the story, every expansion has this one boss or set off bosses which are creating turmoil. This much I get. Of course us being the heroes it is our job to help the victims of the most current expansion.
What’s sad is wow is a massive game, why we are locked into only doing stuff for the current expansion I don’t understand. Why past expansion characters hardly play roles in new expansions.
Give us reasons to go back to other areas, be it transmogs etc. I can’t tell you the last time I went to thunder bluff.
Give players something to do, outside of the normal grouping and such. Ffxiv has the gold saucer, eq2 has player housing, rift has player housing and an artifact system, so many other games acknowledge that raiding and grouping are needed in these games, he’ll they are the core. But the down time between grouping, or waiting on your friends to get off work need to be filled with more than running old constant, or farming mats in a loop that never ends.
I feel like wow has gone all in on the core of the game. Grouping, farming, raiding and while I enjoy those things I just feel like there isn’t much in between.
I will say this, the mega dungeon has been a blast. Maybe because it’s new. But I like some of the filler stuff, the puzzle room, the boss mechanics, even the area clearing the sand. The difficulty may be a little over tuned but at its face if you do the mechanics it isn’t impossible. The best thing about it is no timer, and no affixes. I have ran it 3 times so far, and I found there is less toxicity in this than mythics.
I love pizza. But I don’t eat it everyday. Even if it wasn’t a health thing.
Wow used to force you to log in everyday. Now it doesn’t. That’s awesome. You can play as much or as little as you want based on your own personal goals.
Dragon flight is the best expansion WoW had ever had, assuming they don’t take a sharp left turn back towards gate keeping in the final patch. There’s an entire world of stuff to do, and I feel like I can browse and take part in it at my leisure. It’s absolutely refreshing.
On my last month if nothing changes .
I dunno. I hop in, do maybe 6-10 keys a day and hop out.
you dont have to announce your departure this isnt an airport ya know
