In a way yes. It’s strange that all of their catch up mechanics are for extremely low ilvl/brand new players when you’d expect them to focus on retaining mid range players. How many new players are really coming back to wow? Most of the people who played at the beginning of dragonflight outlevel almost all of the catch up stuff anyway so it doesn’t really even benefit them.

Sooo… how about not making us wait an extra week arbitrarily for new customization? There’s no good reason it can’t just be available on the 5th with the rest of the patch, but I guess it was too optimistic to think that Blizzard ever actually cared about the players over their stupid metrics.

it’s not supposed to. it’s catch-up gear. it’s meant to get you caught up so you can do current content. the intended gameplay cycle isn’t “just keep doing catch-up content and unsubbing until the next catch-up patch”.

I wonder if I’ll even log in to see any of it. There’s really nothing new. The heritage armor is just a long-delayed promise which is akin to having never even done it.
There’s nothing in this that makes me want to play. Ah well.

They’re making content for a population that just isn’t there though. The amount of people who would return mid expansion is extremely small and they usually come back for promotions anyway, not this.

They could have given ilvl 418 to 421 as catch up gear or for casual right now. Giving out 408 is laughable at this point. My alt monk that I haven’t play in months did a few normal raid farm and is already at 420 lish. There is no reason not to give out better ilvl at this point.
Most people are either on break, stop playing and working on alts to try out. Why not make is easier to gear alts and let people have fun.
