Joined at some point in Wrath, and if he designed a raid in Wrath it was actually the worst received one. " Hazzikostas worked on the [Faction Champions] boss in [Trial of the Crusader," Then Cataclysm raids.
They are, for ilvl bloat, all the varying difficulties that now exist, etc.
your point on when he was hired was wrong, he was hired BEFORE launch (summer 2008) and has worked on every raid since then up til he was made game director
Raids have actually gone downhill imo since he moved away from being lead encounter designer, would have loved him to stay in that position since he made good raids.
The prices are set by the market. They’re charging the same as every other triple a product. 60 dollars is the going price for practically all of the games. Are you trying to claim that everyone has the same budget for their games? lol
Who do you think is behind seasonal sales and etc? Hint: NOT the stockholders as claimed before
Blizz: makes Shadowlands with tons of new, complex systems
Forums: we hate these systems! Why can’t we just adventure?
Blizz: makes Dragonflight with few new systems to focus on adventuring
Forums: just adventuring? That’s boring, why can’t we have more systems?
Are you trolling or something? Where did literally anyone ask for more complex systems? None of the things I listed are about systems, except the random dungeon finder.
Sure, it is. If a publisher doesn’t think a game in production will be viable and it would take too much time and money to make it viable, it will kill the project before it ever goes on sale. Blizzard has done this a couple of times that we know of, even in Acti-Blizz’s bottomless bank account days of the post-WoW world (Project Titan and Starcraft: Ghost).
The prices are set by the publisher. They can be influenced by the market - and retailers have influence because they don’t want something that is too expensive to sell - but pricing can also ignore the market. Nintendo’s N64 games were more expensive compared to competing console products at the time, but Nintendo didn’t budge.
The jump from the $50 to $60 price point for console games was driven by increased production costs that new tech brought (fancier game engines, etc.) and also cost of licensing fees from Sony and Microsoft to put a game on their consoles. Their unit cost was getting dinged by the console makers taking 20% for the privilege of being released on their system, so prices increased out of necessity. The PC market jumped on the higher pricing not because they faced the same licensing fee challenges, but because they wanted more money and they saw the console guys doing it.
And I did not say that the budget was the only factor.
No, but I don’t think the asking price ignores a game’s budget. Video game publishers and studios know exactly how many units they have to sell to break even. The lower the price, the more units that takes.
Retailers (and their 40% off the top) and publishers, and, in some rare cases when there are developers with a lot of stroke like Blizzard, the developers.
And you can stow your snark. It adds nothing to the conversation.
Oh look, another delusional thread where someone isn’t using their eyes and pretends that Dragonflight has no content.
Funny, I’ve been doing heroic dungeons quite often and the queue times are always short. Just because ‘you’ don’t do them, doesn’t mean no one is.
This literally exists in Shadowlands, and it exists in Dragonflight.
Reputation makes no sense to be account wide at all, and I hope it never becomes account wide. I’m all for greatly speeding up the process for alts (via rep tokens, tabards etc) but as far as I’m concerned, if you want the rewards from a rep on an alt, you do the work on that alt to earn it.
Cross-faction PvP was literally added in WoD via the mercenaries system. I don’t know if that continued into Legion and beyond though. But the functionality absolutely exists.
Aren’t enough, then I suggest never playing any WoW expansion at launch cause this is about as filled as they do. Classic Wrath has much less to do at launch than DF does.
Yeah, better remove all content you don’t do yourself to make sure the people who do it quit. And god forbid the game provided a learning curve when you can just make players buy carries from you. If you give them no choice you can probably earn a living selling carries for real money and won’t need to have a job. It’s a win-win situation, except that you’ll be responsible for a lot of players quitting rather than getting a second job so they can buy carries from you.
Some people can’t be happy unless they remove other people’s content.
Trust me I’ve played the Dragonflight Beta and let me tell you there is absolutely nothing to do but:
Raids
Dungeons
World PVP
4 factions with 30 levels of renown, 2 of which have 2/3 elite outdoor zones
Mini Torghast type zone called Cobalt Assembly
Exploration treasure hunts
FFXIV type Hunts with the Centaurs or something like that haven’t done it
Primal Invasions
Crafting
World rares or elites that drop helpful gear for your alts/main in the beginning
Fishing and an end game fishing faction with unlocked new zones later on
Dragonriding races everwhere
World Quests
All new Hero Class the Evoker
and more
Faction champions was an experiment boss. Every now and then the team needs to be able to throw a new concept for a boss put there, and see how it does. This one flopped, and the concept wasn’t used again.
If you want new/interesting bosses, you can’t really blame the team for trying something new and it flopping, but you can if they try the flopped concept again, without significant changes/design improvement.
Many of us would disagree. I’m fine with the sub as it keeps a lot of random riffraff out of the game. If people don’t find it good value they have a choice.
That’s a departure from how the rest of the world does it. Who decides at Blizzard?
Seems like a list of things you’re asking for, not all of us. $50 is nothing and I think the new questing zones, new class, dungeons, raids, and other new or reworked features are plenty enough for me to get my money’s worth
If I grow unhappy, I’ll just unsub. I suggest the same to you
