I agree with Erevien in that the Dragonflights do tend to be slightly Alliance-leaning, with characters such as Kalecgos, the Red and Green dragons in general… The problem is, Dragons are way too powerful beings, them being largely sympathetic of one faction would be definitely problematic.
Either the balance is set right and there should be at least one Horde-leaning Dragonflight, or Dragons must be truly neutral, which is hardly really the case right now
Anduin Puppet, and if you have noticed, of course you didn´t, you would allready have seen the dialog between the “Alliance” and Wrathion, he isn´t allowed to visit the city without permission since anduin is not the leader anymore.
Alextrasza is - expect in Personal Business - fully Neutral. And the two cases in which she ´s not is the dragonmaw and the dk storyline. Alextrasza didn´t even lift a finger toward the Alliance or old allies like the night elves
Ysera - its only words, she said she would have helped but…the green dragons didn´t show up either, so it remains only words and no deeds.
Kalecgos is connected to the blood elves (and their Sunwell) and the kirin Tor+ Jaina. I see him clearly not in favor of the whole Alliance, he helped defending Theramore because of Jaina, not because of the Alliance, so again personal sympathie.
Nozdormu is fully Neutral aswell, he didn´t have interacted with the mortal races much since forever.
Unless of course the Black Dragon aspect would become very active, which then raises the question of why they always help the Horde but the Alliance “uberchars” always do nothing.
Remember that the Dragonmaw (a branch of the clan at least) are STILL in the Horde. I absolutely can’t imagine Alextrasza being fully neutral, understandably so.
It’s not only Ysera. The Green Dragonflight and the Emerald Dream have their best allies in the Druids of the Cenarion Circle, an organisation that’s always been heavily Alliance-leaning, no matter what its official position might be. Kaldorei are the main driving force behind 90% of druidism-related narratives.
Kalecgos is straight up just labeled as Alliance by the WoW Visual Handbook. He’s in sort of a romantic relationship with Jaina, who is an Alliance racial leader. He’s part of the Kirin Tor, which, by all accounts, IS at least slightly Alliance-leaning. He fought for the Alliance in Theramore. He was among Alliance leaders during the trial of Garrosh. Kalecgos is not even close to being neutral
Agreed. Nozdormu and the Bronze are probably the only truly neutral Flight.
That’s a completely different subject, albeit a very interesting one – the thing is that a Loa’s power comes from their worshippers, hence why they have a very direct relationship with them and are very active in defending their interests. Wild Gods are just sort of existing. To be perfectly honest, no one’s worshipping them the way Trolls worship their Loa, so that’s all perfectly sensical
In War Crimes, Alexstrasza outright stated that she would forgive any Dragonmaw who sincerely apologized. So shes not vehemently anti Dragonmaw.
And in the Fourth War, they focused on healing the world over helping the Alliance war effort. Thus alliance aligning in appearance but they are neutral and focused on the world over faction disputes.
I didnt know that the handbook called him Alliance and he snd Jaina are currently on break.
Though I cant help but wonder if Dragonflight will see him step down from his Dalaran council seat as he resumes his leadership of the Blues.
Garrosh never intended for the initial strike to succeed. His plan was to allow Theramore to reinforce itself, bleed the defenders, and then use the mana bomb empowered Focusing Iris to kill the rest.
I agree that it seems as if the Reds, Blues, and Greens are entirely locked down and sealed as Alliance leaning, especially because of their leaders. To pretend the Horde has had as much cooperation and close ties is just a joke.
The Alliance had a monopoly on the Blacks, until Ebonhorn. So I can acknowledge that the Black Flight is more fair and not entirely on one side - yet. Though it is disconcerting that the two dudes in the running have Human visages and Alliance ties. It almost seems inevitable that they will be led by some Alliance sycophant.
The Bronze Dragons though… everyone seems to be agreeing that they are in the neutral camp, but that seems very tenuous. They flat out helped bring the Maghar to Azeroth. That should get many in the Alliance angry. If the Alliance finds out, they might view the Bronze flight in a bad light.
And the AU Draenei could have a grudge against the Bronze flight for being responsible for Garrosh. They might even require the Bronze Dragons to be eradicated or require their scales to keep AU Draenor from fading away. I get the feeling if Yrel comes to Azeroth, the Bronze Dragons wil be on her kill list.
It seems like the Bronze flight is working with the Horde and against the Alliance not out of favor, but circumstance. Which is not exactly like Kalec’s love for Jaina or Ysera’s love for the Night Elves. But the recent involvement of the Bronze has benefited the Horde, with the Maghar.
Sabellian openly calls Rexxar a friend, though its unknown if Rexxar is aware that his Baron buddy is a dragon.
I think most people arent angry because its viewed as a matter of destiny, especially since Anachronos remarked that the time had come for their visit. Tbough I dont know if that means WoD was always destined or if it had after shocks on the timeways that made events like the Horde recruiting the AU Mag’har being one of them.
Eh. I sided with Altrius on my DH. Even though I love the Horde and Blood Elves. I just didn’t like that Kayn guy. Altrius seemed more humble and less glued to Illidan’s back side.
Sided with Kayn in Legion since I had full trust in Illidan. Will side with Sabellian because Wrathion is literally another member of the Anduin fanclub. And i already hate Jaina and Baine.
The sheer amount of Azerothian history that can be sourced to various people wanting to get in Jaina’s pants is actually staggering, if you stop and think about it. Arthas, Kael, and Kalec–all relatively important figures, and all down horrendous for our Lord Admiral.
To clarify my point, I’m saying that a lot of these neutral factions end up feeling Alliance-aligned because Blizz doesn’t seem as interested in having the Horde’s characters interact with neutral players much. Which is weird, because it’s not like they have brilliant options on the Alliance side, as evidenced by the fact that they just keep having various people want to date Jaina.
I actually don’t mind dragons picking a side. Say if they added a drakonid allied race I could very well see the red and green dragonflight’s past relationship with the nelves as justification for alliance recruitment.
This is exactly my point, the dragons do nothing in regard of helping the alliance, even if they have closer ties toward certain alliance people…in the end, it seems the alliance can´t trust none of their “uper” friends to step in and defend them…so they are solely depending on their own strength
I mean, all this people talk about “Alliance friends”…this “Friends” never do anything in favour of the alliance at all…^^
Seems Dragonflight was being developed before Shadowlands Launch.
Since the Shadowlands Patch Stories were finalized after Launch that means that the whole storyline of Shadowlands was scrapped immediately after Afrasiabi was fired with the writers scrambling to replace it while making Dragonflight at the same time.
