Dragonflight alpha/beta thread

It seems that the dragon isles was an island even before the sundering, so it is not on this map. It’s also located to the east of northrend.

They should really fix the map, the meme is being unironically fulfilled.

Yeah, that is a good point. Though I suspect that we will discover another chunk of Draenor survived before the Azeroth map gets close to being over filled like that.

I thought Eastern Kingdoms got broke apart, then I realized it has an upside down Kalimdor next to it.

The below video has every Dracthyr starting zone cinematic. Though the official Dracthyr intro cinematic itself is not included…

Mayla warmly welcomes Ebyssian and the Dracthyr.
Shaw is curt, short, and suspicious of Wrathion, but lets him and the Dracthyr in.

Both are in character, so it’s fine for me. Though I fail how anyone could look at that difference in welcome and decide “Alliance bias.”

They see Orgrimmar as easily destructible while Stormwind can withstand formidable attack. It’s an unbalanced observation. The Horde voice lines are unfinished too.

Also needless obligatory Anduin reference.

I just kind of giggled when he said Orgrimmar embodies strength and honor

Cindrethresh outright called Orgrimmar impressive, and then boasted how nothing would hold back the Dark Talon. My take away isn’t that they see Orgrimmar as easily destructible but that Cindrethresh takes a great deal of pride in the Dark Talon and their abilities. I am concerned at the arrogance but everything else is fine.

To be fair Anduin is Wrathion’s connection to Stormwind and the Alliance. Without that him being the one to lead the Dracthyr to Stormwind would be even more out of place.

I say more out of the place because I know people who think that Wrathion shouldn’t have been the one to bring Azurathel and Obsidian Warders to the Alliance.

Wrathion’s only connection to the Alliance is Anduin, and he’s completely missing right now. I understand a lot of yall don’t like him, but it would make less narrative sense for people to just ignore the fact that the King of Stormwind is just completely MIA.

Black talons are offensive, and the Obsidian Wardens are defensive as a function. Like that’s their canon functions as groups within the Dracthyr. It makes total sense for each leader to be focused on this aspect of themselves when they’re talking about capabilities, or show this off with flavor commentary.

*I originally spoiler tagged this cause I forgot this was an alpha/beta thread. Myb.

Honestly I’d rather mount Wrathions skull next to Onixya’s on the gate.

Only reason the alliance get stuck with him is because him and Anduin are apparently friends? Honestly if Anduins “friends” are anything to go by no wonder the Alliance keeps getting blindsided by their enemies all the time. When one has followed two evil leaders of the Horde and the other is a dragon who brought the Legion and Iron horde down on us.

Why can’t we actually get a dragon who wants to actually help protect the alliance instead of one that has tried to engineer its destruction.

Wrathion is here cuz they wanted a dragon character to introduce the Dracthyr and Wrathion is the only one that would have any notable commentary on Stormwind due to his Anduin connections and Deathwing being his dad. “Getting” something has nothing to do with it, it’s a brief character interaction, Wrathion isn’t suddenly an Alliance character because he talked to Turalyon for 30 seconds.

Not everything must be looked at through the lens of how many bias points you can tally it up for on the forums.

The “Perhaps even a dragon” and Wrathion’s “You have no idea” are referencing that Deathwing landed on Stormwind in Cataclysm. It’s a nod to that.

Blizzard needs to stop with this “Horde are offense, Alliance are defense”.

Honestly I couldn’t care less about who it is who brings the Dracthyr. However Wrathion has tried to engineer the Alliances destruction and yet we aren’t actively hunting him, all because he is buddy buddy with Anduin.

I would like the interaction to be more realistic rather than ignoring all the crimes he has commited.

Sure, I don’t really disagree.

To be fair, he also sought to destroy the Horde. He even threw a giant hissy fit when the Alliance didn’t destroy the Horde after Garrosh was overthrown.

Though I do agree with you, Wrathion shouldn’t really be given a pass. I’m also still a bit annoyed that after all his talk of Mists in wanting Azeroth prepared for the Legion’s return, he was completely MIA when his actions in thinking that he could actually control Garrosh, of all people, snowballed into the Legion invasion happening.

Alliance video is longer. Also Cindretesh sucks.

It has been like that since MoP. It isn’t new. Alliance favoritism has plagued the lore for a long time.
