It looks like blue dragons Senegos, Stellagosa, and Emmigosa are back. Senegos was not doing too well when we left him in Aszuna, so I am happy to see that he is still alive and able to see the Dragon Isles. Senegos’ visage form is a troll, which is fitting since he is the oldest non-Aspect dragon. He might be the first named dragon to take on a troll visage form?
Khadgar appears to be returning along with the Kirin Tor. Miva Star-Eye is a new tauren member of the Kirin Tor (Kirin Tauren? ).
We may also be getting a murloc retelling of history. There is a murloc Dragonblight map and a handful of murloc-ified heroes (Baine Blrrgfin, Deathwingurlugull, Finduin Wryngrrlgulgll, Thrallgrulgulgul, Tyrggrln Webbedring, Varian Wryngrrlgulgll, and Vrglrok Saurfin).
So far I’m interested, especially in what looks like a Tauren villain, which the game sorely lacks. Magatha is a long time threat but she hasn’t really done much at all since Cataclysm, besides become a follower in Legion for some reason. A new one as a long-term or even patch villain would make for an actual, credible threat. Tauren are the only playable race with the physical power to go toe to toe with a dragon even without magical enhancements, so one with a large amount of magical power would be a serious issue.
Really glad they remembered Sabellian exists, I assume it will also play into the seemingly uncorrupted Black Dragons that appear in some Island Expeditions as well. There seem to be a lot of inferences and assets for the Reliquary, hence all the updated Blood Elf models, so I’m hopeful we’ll see some for Dwarves as well with the Explorer’s League.
Also Furbolgs for the alliance and Centaurs for the Horde. That would make the most sense. I always wanted to be a fast devil on the steppes. I imagine Dragonflight opens the way for many new allied race concepts.
I gotta say, if the set stays as it is, the hunter primalist set from the first raid looks pretty awesome. Might have to get back into LFR again for it.
A proper Spellfrost Elemental… At least we get to see an Elemental embodiment of Blue Dragonflight Magic at long last even if we don’t see any Elementals made from Red, Green and Bronze Dragonflight Magic.
The guards are rather hostile and Turalyon is filled with wariness.
Guard dialogue:
I prefer hunting dragons, not befriending them.
Those things will ruin this city!
The only good dragon’s a dead one!
Go back to your home. Filthy beast.
I can smell those things from here. Disgusting.
They don’t belong here. I’d love to turn those horns into a nice little trophy.
Shaw and Turalyon dialogue:
Turalyon: Spymaster Shaw, it seems the dragons are among us once again.
Shaw: Yes, Lord Commander. We haven’t seen this level of draconic activity since the Cataclysm.
Turalyon: I’ve read the SI:7 reports on the black dragon Onyxia. How she infiltrated Stormwind in the guise of a noble and sewed division and chaos.
Shaw: Indeed. She masterminded an elaborate scheme to seize control of the throne.
Turalyon: The Dragon Queen Alexstrasza’s intentions appear honorable. But can we be certain that the same is true for all of dragonkind?
Shaw: It is… wise to be cautious. I’ll order extra security patrols.
Turalyon: We need more than spies and guards on the city walls. Enlist the expertise of our mages. I want a foolproof method to see through those visages the dragons wear.
Turalyon: We’ve put too much effort into rebuilding the strength of the Alliance to see it undone. Am I clear, Spymaster?
I get it from Turalyon given he personally fought Deathwing, but it’s weird coming from the common folk after how upfront in helping out the good dragons have been since Wrath.
The blues literally had a big celebration in the sky above SW/Org in the Tarecgosa questline.

It makes me really curious if the Horde will be the more welcoming ones to serve as a contrast or if both sides will have guards being all hostile, like how both were hostile to the death knights when they first entered the capitals.
It does feel like Death Knights again. I don’t like it, but it makes sense. Stormwind has faced a lot of adversity from the black dragons, and when one was befriended that resulted in the king getting killed. The Dracthyr were made by Neltharion. Hopefully we see progress in Stormwind befriending the Dracthyr and being more welcoming to them, not just because it’d be nice but also because RPers might have a tough time playing Dracthyr in Stormwind.
Huh… I guess them being created by Deathwing is a real massive negative PR. So I guess that means apart of the expansion will resolve around the Dracthyr changing the minds of the people. Which would have the benefit of having the leaders of the Dracthyr factions as focus characters for the expansion, and not just side characters like the playable Pandaren leaders ended up being in Mists.
And on another note I really like that the Vulpera are being involved in Dragonflight in some manner.
I think there should be a different approach to the horde’s dialogue regarding the dragons due to the horde’s history with dragons. Personally I would have gone with a sorrowful and regretful guilt.
Having said that this is relatively the most aggressive the Alliance has ever been to a potential new member but not totally unheard of. Both Death Knights and Demon Hunters were not exactly welcomed with opened arms. Still, Turalyon does feel abit paranoid.
