I had the same thought as well. I think a lot of it was the fact that the raid was out for so long, and we also had the 35% buff for the majority of it. A lot of us have memories of it being an easy tier.
Coming into it with no Tier 13 sets, no buff will make it pretty challenging for the first few weeks, but I do think once people have some tier 13 sets (tanking CDs for example) and once the buff starts to roll out, it will be much much easier. By the end it will get significantly easier.

It gets easier with gear and the “buff” will be added and increased over time. in the future.

they really dropped the ball with the 10 man tuning in this tier, ultraxion 10 man has 85m hp , ultraxion 25 has 276m hp
that’s 3.25 as much
the problem is for every minute ultraxion is alive, his damage increases, at 5 minutes his damage doubles (he has a 6 min enrage), 10 man can kill him in under 5 mins but 25 man can barely kill him in 6
we did 759k raid dps over 6 minutes and beat the enrage by 0.5 seconds
I guess most people will have to wait for the tier sets, especially if you do 25 man, the tuning is very very close, spine we were missing the tendon check sometimes with 10 arcane mages, its pretty wild. You have to do 1million damage per second for 20 seconds every 2 mins or so
Does heroic force you to one cycle the tendons?
it forces you to kill them in two tries, but they have 39m hp so u need 1000k raid dps give or take, you need 39m damage in 40 seconds
It certainly is a step up across the board.
So is the gearing tbh. A week or two of clears… even normals… hell LFR gear however you will get that now… will show you some pretty looney increases based on things like sets and trinkets in particular.
This all even doesnt even consider the “buff” that will come.

Lol each mode has their own hurdles and challenges. But 25man is always harder.

it was exceptionally hard at launch, but there was a stacking determination buff every few weeks.
