I’m not really worried anyway its a couple of hours on each alt over several years.
Don’t get me wrong having it account wide when it goes live would be great but if not I’m ok with it.

It is some of the most fun I’ve had collecting things. There was one race I did that got my speed up so much that I shot up towards one of the glyphs after I finished it and the speed was absolutely exhilarating.
If I HAVE to unlock them each time, I might be sour but I’ll get real good at dragonriding, hah.
I have enough alts that I think I would get very, very tired of repeating the same tour of glyphs over and over, especially with low vigor.
You know your opinion is worthless when you prefix it with “Anyone who disagrees is X, Y, Z!!!”. How insecure are you?
I tried Dragon Riding and I was blown away. It is so satisfying.
Yeah, it’s not perfect. It’s annoying when you’re trying to use the Dragon as a regular ground mount and you walk over a pebble and go into this half a second slow-fall glide. Solution? Don’t use it as a ground mount.
But when you’re on top of a cliff (which is the intro to Dragon Riding btw, you’re on top of what is essentially a runway for Dragons) and you dive down to build up momentum, them glide between the canyons and over the rivers etc. at super high speeds, it’s fun.
To call me a “corporate drone” over this, is as I said, insecure on your part.
I tried Evoker and I was severely disappointed. IMO it’s a bland caster with a few charge effects on a couple of spells, bolted together with gimmicks.
But Dragon Riding has been one of the big positives, IMO.
I’ve tried it in the beta and it’s fun enough, but eventually we’ll be able to use our own mounts which is much better. The speed is nice but when I’m doing other stuff I tend to afk up in the air which dragonriding doesn’t allow for.
So it’s ok as a temp thing but I’m wondering how much of the base will continue to use it primarily once we can use our mounts instead.
I have anxiety attacks in real life with heights. They are discomforting but I can overcome them. Its usally tunnel vision, increased breathing and heart rate stuff like that.
I’ve never had it triggered in game but hitting 500% or better speed with the wind gusts darn near knocked me out of my seat as I wasn’t ready for it.
If they enable it for normal mounts I think I’d always use it myself. Hovering is ok but you can just as safely afk on one of the ledges.
I’m just not a fan of the dragon models themselves.
it’s a shame that the toxicity of the community flagged you your post and thread in vain without knowing why you say that.
but unfortunately you don’t convince me to do Dragon flying JETS as if you were the Dragons of Dayneris from Game of Thrones last season, geez it’s really cringe.
Apart from that it is nothing original since it brings new Guilds wars 2 mechanics.
but the worst thing about the expansion is that it is in doubt if it is good or not, something that the new devs did not make an effort to demonstrate if their own expansion is worthy or not.
You have to engage with the world to actually do anything already though. There’s no difference in me flying over the trash packed into every square inch of ground and me riding through them until they leash. Either way I’m going to have to fight the ones at my destination.
So can you with Dragon Riding, there is a skill tree and first thing you unlock is the ability to just gain altitude so you can reach higher points or glide longer. I really have my doubts that you even used the system beyond the first 10 minutes…

Didn’t say that. Said anyone hyping it, AKA making it out to be more than it is, acting like it’s so innovative or amazing.
It’s not. It’s just crappier flying, in terms of getting from point A to point B, if B is up hill. I’ve read the tree, you’re never going to get to a point where you can just permanently go up hill without eventual issues.
Nah you can AFK on plenty of near by peaks and tower. You might not be able to hover 3 feet off the ground over the quest objective, but if you need to take a break there are enemy free mountains or towers everywhere.
Yep. Case in point:
Its inflammatory language made to dehumanize people who don’t agree with you. I mean I don’t mind its par for the course on the internet but lets call it what it is.
You may consider it to be making the feature out to be more than it is but I do genuinely find it to be both amazing and innovative (at least within this game) and am holding back on how great I think it is for the game.
There are limits to the height of anything in game so its not usually an issue. At most you might need to take a single rest period. I can say that you can fly from one side of the continent to the other with only half the talent tree.
Reading the tree doesn’t really give you a good idea on how drastically these talents change the way dragon riding works. I didn’t think they would be a big deal at first either but than gave it a chance. You can fly for longer periods, use gusts to gain height (saves you vigor,) gain more vigor, get an additional ability, regain vigor faster while going at high speeds (this becomes a huge bonus as you can gain altitude by diving first) and how fast you regain vigor while grounded (almost twice as fast,) and speed up vigor gains by doing some activity (so make sure to land next to an herb if your an herbalist.)
Here is a video on how to maximize vigor gains at high speeds:
Some video about how it looks at a maxed out talent tree:
OP got beta 3 days ago and he figures it is lame.
yeah when I read we would hafta look for…what was it?..in order to stay soaring, it was a hard nope for me. I will not be using it…no thanks.
again, its like the ONLY thing they know how to make us ‘work’ towards, is to strip us of our flying every…single…expac…it’s getting old.
I love the game…but, come on…find something else…just give us flying, make us work towards something else for a change
I think it’s a lot of fun. I’ve also criticized the living heck out of Blizzard in the past–and about other things in Dragonflight. lol
People disagreeing with you does not automatically make them shills.
You’ve read the tree but you haven’t actually unlocked everything, huh? There is a monumental difference between reading what the upgrades do and experiencing them, but that does require actually progressing the system so I understand the challenges.
it likely sounds a bit dumb, but finding and getting to some of the glyphs was actually fun. but of course I actually enjoyed farming those Mists rares for the rep tokens too, so… lol
which is a load of tripe…no offense to you, lmao.
I WiLL hype dragon riding because for those of us who DO enjoy this kind of dynamic flight it IS something to be hyped.
uh…its GLIDING with boosts guy…no one said otherwise. lol.
Oh I had a ton of fun getting them. They really forced you to learn the mechanics of flying, and that helped me win the first race I entered. To be honest I hope they somehow include more hidden ones even if they don’t give us anything we can spend them on.
Or some other kind of incentive to be flying about all expansion. I mean I’ll be doing it anyway between ques but it would be nice to work for something as well.
I’ve just been having to work and have been testing a lazer bear build the last couple of days. I really think I might go bear tank for the first time in a long time.
