You have to remember, this is the same team that tried to outright remove flying in WoD. They didn’t get their way so now they are just being children about it and doing everything they can to spite the players who didn’t let them get their way.

I find myself in the unenviable position where I miss WoD/Legion/Bfa era. They gated flying in a way I could never accept, and that part sucked, but while flying helped, everything was really built for ground mounts. I never thought I would miss that. I love ground mounts, all my favorite mounts are ground mounts.
And I’d rather ground mount than dragon ride, but now the world is so outrageously large and empty, but since there’s nothing actually in there, it just makes you feel like you’re in some terrible giant-land.
I don’t gather because stopping and starting is by far the most annoying way to operate the dragon.
I get more glyphs every day and while I don’t agree with the old OP’s premise that everyone who feels other than me is a shill, I do agree that no matter how many glyphs I get I do not want to play this mini-game just because I want to go somewhere.
Game hasn’t been like that for almost 20 years until six months ago. The people who love it act like you’re not a real wow player if you don’t love it, and that’s just as fundamentally wrong as saying the lovers are shills.
I personally have never liked any added mini-games in WoW though. I Didn’t loremaster BfA because of stupid horse racing quests, and honestly that is a perennial theme.

I look at dragon riding as a form of long distance traveling.
Like a 747 compared to a helicopter/drone.
Not a good plan to use the 747 to deliver pizza to a trailer park, but very useful to fly zone to zone.
Both types of flying have their uses.
One is not a replacement for the other though.
I hope static flying comes to DF soon.

i don’t begrudge gliding to people that like it, but I loathe that it is forced on everyone
general flying was always a better solution, gliders can do so if they want
can tell you 100% that gliding, and the way the world is effectively setup like a gliding puzzle and the chore-ish gathering of gliding nodes, has literally made me avoid world exploration entirely
