Yes, I said it. Let me put it into a perspective that some of you might understand since all I’ve gotten by speaking plain is toxicity, many rude comments, hateful and snide remarks, as well as MANY insults.
Put your self in the shoes of someone who has enjoyed something for almost 2 decades, then all of a sudden the paradigm has shifted and you are no longer able to enjoy it. For example, you have been driving an automatic for the last 18 years as you only have your right foot. Then, all of a sudden, the auto maker (and for this example, entire industry) shifts to standard transmissions complete with a clutch, which makes it impossible for you to drive. You’ve approached the auto maker and asked for a work around with no help, you’ve turned to many forums and threads, all work arounds have failed, and many have resorted to mocking you, insulting you, telling you to do impossible things. How would you react and feel if this happened to you? You’d be incredibly upset, depending on your state of mind, probably a little hurt as well. I mean yea, you could take a bus (different game) but you really enjoyed driving (playing WoW pre DF). So, what I’m asking for is a quick, and simple workaround to re-enable regular flying side by side with Dragon Riding for those of us who are for one reason or another are incapable of playing that aspect. Yes, I’ve tried the motion sickness option. Yes, I’ve turned all my optional settings as low as they will go to try and fix it. Yes, I’ve tried being a passenger with no relief at all. I really don’t want to quit something I’ve invested 18 years in over something as petty as Dragon Riding being made Mandatory. /end rant.
They havent had flying available at the beginning of expansions forever, so they didnt take it away its just not currently available in the current new areas. So really you are mad for like no reason other than blizz atleast added in dragon flying so we arent stuck walking on our mounts everywhere … is that what you want? Really to walk this giant field out here? Dear god
Alright, let me expand on my point . . . innovation is sometimes required to make a game more engaging, yes sometimes this fails but it can also reinvigorate a game by adding something fresh and new. I mean fel, can you imagine if we got to this point and no gameplay elements had changed at all since vanilla? Same graphics, same raid and dungeon mechanics, same leveling, same zones, etc.
OP, while I absolutely respect and empathize with your situation, I unfortunately don’t think the devs are going to hear you and the others on the General Forum.
I don’t know if it still works this way but traditionally only highly upvoted posts ever got the attention of the blues, who subsequently brought it before the devs. You’re sadly not gonna get those upvotes here.
If there’s a place to make noise where you might be heard it would likely be the Customer Support forum.
I don’t think they are being a drama queen when they said that they have a disability. Maybe you’re right. Maybe they’ll add it in later, but for now, the op said it’s not possible for them to play due to disability, so I see their point.
I try my hardest to be understanding about this situation, but outside of the motion sickness/vision complaints, I’ve certainly been suspicious about the nature of them. Dragonriding is not as engaging or sophisticated as some people make it sound. I’ve seen far more complex rotations than anything dragonriding does, but interesting enough we never hear about these rotations.
I mean, I’ve had a lot of fun with it personally. Hell the only complaint I have with it is that it confirmed by fears that I’d find regular flight boring and bland by comparison (I REALLY feel that speed difference for example)
It’s all opinion at the end of the day, no two people are gonna feel exactly the same on this.
Enabling normal flight would be fine but would the community be okay with the slower 310% in the Dragon Isles? No asking for Blizzard to temporarily boost flight speed to stay on par with DR?
This community is so garbage and toxic it was a huge waste of money to even buy DF for that reason alone even IF this will not turn out to be a WOD expansion in the end game. I agree with you dragon riding for me is a gimmicky system I do not enjoy it either. Combined with the way they treat tanks, the over all crap community, my suspicions this will be a WOD log in raid log out expansion; I un subbed. I wish i could get my money back for the expansion.
