It’s not mandatory and think of it as gliding to treasure in WoD. This is so much better than WoD pathfinder by 1,000,000,000 gazillion times.
Dragon Riding is the best nonmandatory feature ever added to wow in my opinion.

I had to go back to Org for something and the flying in the other areas is depressingly slow LOL I kept trying to hit my forward button and was annoyed it wouldn’t lol That’s going to take come getting use to once this Xpac is over
It just makes no sense for regular flying not to be in game now, for the disabled who cant do dragonflying and for those who just don’t like it. Regular flying IS coming to DF and its only a matter of “when”
So why not have it now? Everyone else is able to fly and enjoy the expansion except disabled people… is that what Warcraft devs wanted? to block an entire section of the population form being able to get anywhere without spending 45 minutes to walk around a 4 mile long 500 foot cliff?
“B…but bots!” They are already back, they just had to take some time to fix their pathing, also regular flying is coming so they’d be back anyway and you’d rather punish people that can’t do dragonflying in an effort to defeat botting? (DF cant and hasn’t done this)
“Well you just wanna autorun and afk!” Yeah I now an FORCED to autorun because DF mounts CANNOT not autorun. Vertigo means I can’t look at the screen so if anything I am afk autorunning now more than ever.
“But people afk in the air, I don’t lliiiiike itttttt” Yeah well I guess its time to remove all forms of stealth from the game, NO AFKING IN WARCRAFT EVER
I don’t know what Koolaide blizz fed to the whit knights but I guarantee people will use dragonflying just fine as they blaze past my slow 310 mount at mach 90.
You like dragonflying, that’s great and nobody is taking that away from you. I HOWEVER WOULD LIKE TO PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT VOMITING KK TY

Run on foot/on a ground mount as per every expansion’s release (aside from Cataclysm). You can enjoy it all exactly the same as you did in the past. It just might take longer if you’re unwilling to use your drake to hop up ledges.
Pretty sure they said they’d be re-adding regular flying later in the expansion, similar to how they added the option to purchase flight or get the Pathfinder achievements in other expansions.
You are asking for something that has never been a staple of WoW (flight on expansion release) and embroiled in outrage over being able to play the game… just how you have in the past.
I think, perhaps, given your remarks on the motion sickness, it may be a problem with the change in field of view when the drake speeds up. As such, try gliding at a moderate speed. Or perhaps look if there’s a way to “lock” the FoV so it isn’t changed during dragonriding.

If you thought they were gonna keep tanks as broken and op as they have been these past 2 weeks, you haven’t been playing this game very long. Stop acting like tanks get crapped on constantly, they were obviously overtuned.

Count yourself lucky that you get ANY type of Flying this early in an Expansion. Flying hasn’t come this early in… what? Almost a decade? Normally you’re forced to wait 8-12 months for Flying.

Same to me… what? I don’t care that Blizzard… might… be planning on giving you regular Flying. I’m pointing out that whining about being given Flight at the VERY START of an Expansion is kind of silly.

Everyone else is able to fly except disabled people and those with motion sickness, but that’s A-Ok with you because you got yours.

I’m literally disabled. You might no know this but there’s more than your disability out there and mine makes me LITERALLY VOMIT WHEN I USE THIS SYSTEM and I am sick to death of people hand waving the clear and logical fact REGULAR FLIGHT WILL BE ADDED, YOU ARE FLYING , I DESERVE TO BE ABLE TO PLAY LIKE ANYONE ELSE

At launch, in the first or second zone, you’ll gain the trust of a Dragon companion and you’ll be able to call it in the Dragon Isles. It’s not too experienced in flying at the start and has limited Stamina, but as your Bond grows will allow you to loosen those restrictions. Long term, flying with your regular mounts is still the plan. It should feel good from the start, and should only get better from there.
(the only people being hurt by the decision to wait till 10.1 or 10.2 for regular flying are disabled people, bots are already using new programming to farm nodes)
