With Dragonriding, the old world is going to feel a lot smaller than it was.
Dragon Isles are pretty large, and designed with riding in mind- I remember hearing the entire continent was larger than Northrend.
If we are allowed to ride in the old world, you’re probably gonna be able to go from Gadgetzan to Everlook in about 2-3 minutes, as opposed to the 15+ it takes now, lol.
Going from 310% speed to 830% is a very large increase in speed. Not to mention you can dive now, before you just had to fly downward at the same speed.
I like being able to afk tab out when I’m flying somewhere.
I’ll take my chances of dying in the Great Sea and needing to take res sickness in some random location that is always way too far from where I was trying to go over dragon riding being a thing everywhere else.
I can count all dragon riding mounts on my hand. I don’t really like any of them. I like my other flying mounts though, still want them to exist.

And I and my husband unsubbed because of it. We are literally playing other games because we hate having to play a mini-game in order to move.
Won’t be a issue at all but Blizzard decided to make it one by only enabling DR mounts from the get go and then failing to consistently address the issue with their customers, which has led to a divided community and a lot of ill feelings.

It’s definitely ingrained in my muscle memory. I actually dislike flying the normal way now.
all dragon riding mounts look trash, if they let us use old flying mounts with dragon riding skill then that will get the peoples vote.

Old mounts don’t need vigor, just like land mounts don’t need barrels of apples.

Dragon riding will 100% be implemented in the old world. there’s no reason not to. Just a matter of time.

That will be a whole new can of worms.
Worse than that is just if they let you dragon riding in Classic.

You have a really hard time getting the idea that disliking something might not be just a matter of not doing it in this crowd.
The new folks playing dont get the idea that something happening might get in the way of people who dont do that which they like.
Are you really unsubbing? Youre posting on a classic character that is level 63. That means you’re playing wotlk. A wow sub gets access to 3 versions of the game.
See, from their interviews around launch, I got the impression that it was being looked at as something that was very much in the cards for a future patch.
I think that the problem will be more basic than whether DR is enabled for a map.
The old maps where all designed with the basis that the maximum flying speed was %310. Thus map edges were placed so that there where no way for someone to get close enough to see them before fatigue killed them. To do increase that max to %810 without having players overriding the edges of the world maps, would require a CATA level rebuild for every zone you want to use DR in. Just do not see that happening. Or I may be whistling past the graveyard.

Its a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
theyve said many things in interviews and then nothing happened from it
dont count on it if its something blizz says until they do it.

I already unsubbed, sub ends in April at some point. Haven’t logged in since the new year. In fact, uninstalled everything but core retail wow. I played classic when it was retail and played Wraith when it was retail. Just can’t go back.

It would be cool to ride a dragon around while skaven scream and shoot at me.
In the past Blizzard’s bosses have cared, to a degree, about the players and making things easier for them. We had the introduction of the Flight Whistle to help during the long Pathfinder process. In Legion you could have the flight master mounts look like Favorite mounts from your collection. If we had both of those things now, I would use dragonriding less, and when I did at least I would get the opportunity to see my old mounts, even if it was just a visual.
But now its - introduce a minigame and herald it as "look we are giving you early flight, aren’t we generous’. I have to wonder and this is my question:
If normal flight had been introduced early as dragonriding was, and then dragonriding was only available after an extended Pathfinder style achievement system, would those who like dragonriding be satisfied to grind for it? The main reason it was so popular was because it was quick and easy to get. Me, I’d have been using normal flight and all my normal mounts and getting dragonriding would be fairly low down my list of preferences. I suspect I would not have been alone.

While I like the speed I can achieve when I need to get to an event that is about to happen or underway, I like Dragon riding for that reason only. I hate having to manage my vigor, many times I have to circle around and around to try to land on something (yes, I know about the new feature coming). Running out of vigor while flying and literally just glide until I drop then keep running on the ground to re-charge my vigor.
While I like dragons, I hate riding on one. I have tried to make my mount as small as possible and look like my old-world swift mount from Origmaar. I like just hovering if I need a fast AFK or just point and let my mount fly along and not having to play a mini game of manage my vigor while harvesting.
