Draenei Mages for pvp + other questions

I played a lot of retail and am now burned out.
I want to play an alliance mage for tbc, but I dont want to go gnome. Are draenei mages any good for pvp?
Also would I be denied groups because im not the best mage race(PvE and PvP)
Im bit new to classic, so sorry if these questions are quite dumb and thank you in advance for responding.

Unless you’re guild is cutting edge it doesn’t really matter what race you play

As far as draenei specifically, a lot of guilds will bring them because their racial provides +hit rating to the group which allows people to swap gear for dps pieces instead of hit.

Their racial is ok. It has a 1.5 sec cast time in tbc I believe, so not amazing, but It’s something

I’d say go for it. Most people don’t care what race you play as long as you know what you’re doing

In my entire time of playing classic since launch, I have not seen any player be snubbed over their race. I always play for aesthetic, not min-max, hasn’t effected me one bit.

Honestly mages are great for pve no matter your race they are insane for dungeons as well with the CC they provide.

In terms of pvp gnome quite a bit better but unless you are going for glad level pvp just pick the race you enjoy. Hope this helps.

play whatever you want lil guy. Game will be fun

Why not?

Careful how you answer.

Your hit group buff is probably BIS mage racial for PVE anyway.

Draenei should be best or second best mage race. It really comes down to +1% spell hit for you and party or +5% int. For pvp while gnomes are the best if you dont want to do high end arena matches you should be fine as a space goat for random bg.

Luckily for you, we’re entering the era of WoW where no one was useless because of their race and/or class, but we’re still a handful of years away from classes becoming homogenized and nauseating.

TBC and Wrath were the golden years of WoW in terms of Class fantasy and inclusion, I think. Pick whatever you like the most and enjoy it!
