Draenei Heritage Set

idk i think it came out a 10/10 set.

As a Draenei enjoyer this set ruined my day,

Especially seeing how cool the troll one is

i think the problem is the brassy metal colors. draenei and the exodar, are all in cool color shades. their gear should be in steel, silver, platinum, to complement the cool shades of their skin colors

I don’t know. The helmet on both sets made me burst out laughing so they are pretty equal feeling to me.

Why they gotta make our heads weird? :upside_down_face:

Yeah the colours feel off. Also, why did they put the purple crystals with the orange sash thingy? Purple and orange is awful
should have put purple crystals with the purple sash ans blue crystals with the orange sash
blue and orange are complementary so its okay.

Lastly, just saw the female version
why does it look like a roman gladiator with a few crystals glued on? What the herk is going on here?

I can’t believe how long Draenei waited compared to other classes for their heritage and then this is what they get. :pensive:

The violet trading post cosmetics matches the drape colors for this color variant fairly well.

I was definitely hoping for something close to a high res version of the pally T5 look, so this is a bummer.

I would have 100% preferred they made the Female variant look more like the concept art. As is it looks like they took the Male version of the concept art and slapped it on the Females.

So is the troll stuff but that seems to be receiving praise.

I love it so far but I definitely think it could use some minor tweaks to really hit home.

  • Make the helm more of a ‘mask’ so the back/sides are exposed allowing hair/horns/tentacles to show.
  • The top of the boots should be the same sort of ‘bandaged’ texture that the base of the gloves and underneath the skirt has.
  • The belt could be a tad less bulky.
  • The outside ‘skirt’ should be a wee bit longer.

Otherwise I’m loving that they took inspo from the original concept art and I’m digging the ‘low fantasy Draenei’ vibes. Will look great on my Shaman!

I actually really like it but wish they went even more toga with it. The chest piece is a little too busy imo.

Yay for more pointless race locking that the game had managed to avoid for 15 freaking years.

And yay for people mindlessly praising this late implementation of archaic game design.

Are you referring to race specific heritage armor in general? What’s your issue with that?

I was very excited to see this armor set and even leveled up my Draenei characters in anticipation.

After seeing these models I may delete my Draenei characters.

This set looks like greens/blues you may get while questing. The shoulders look especially hideous as they kind of just float on the edge of your characters shoulders somehow and are a chunky triangle shape.

The Lightforged Draenei armor looks 10x better imo.

Again. WoW managed to go 15 years with the only “race” locking being faction locking. Didn’t matter if the armor was designed for a certain race be it humans, orcs, trolls, draenei. Anyone could wear it. Like BFA had plenty of sets designed with trolls in mind, yet everyone could wear them. Same with WoD and their orcish and draenei armors. Or legion and higborne.

Now enter Legion and the introduction of “Heritage” armors which broke that convention (Not to mention that the early heritage armors were clearly designed to be worn by everyone initially as seen by everyones ability to preview them no matter what race.)

I love the lightforged dranei’s.
Not too crazy about the shoulders

Again, what’s your issue with it? At its core this is still an RPG and race specific armor makes sense and is very immersive.

While I don’t mind the heritage look on female draenai. However, I also wouldn’t mind if it was closer to the TBC concept art.

The Draenei heritage set looks more like a Broken heritage set to be honest, like something Akama would wear.

Looks like some HD remastered greens from TBC. Low effort, a middle finger to Draenei players. Lazy Blizzard, probably they tasked the janitor to create this aberration.

The race restrictions actually makes it the opposite of immersive.

It’s suppose to represent their heritage but because reasons, if someone grew up as a wrong race in that culture they are denied their heritage. Same with those who have become revered and exalted with those cultures, you know individuals who are deemed the pinnacle of their societies.

Only because they are the wrong race.

The reality is that the restriction suffer the same issue as the faction barrier. There is no actual narrative reason to why races/players can’t break the norm. It only exists as a gameplay barrier.
