Ancient Greeks in the Scottish highlands maybe? It’s just a mish mash of ideas, it has no cohesive theme to it, certainly nothing I would consider reflective of the Draenei.
I suppose my expectations were more along the lines of what we see of them in the cinematic for TBC. Something inspired by Paladins and the Light, or more priestly robes. But certainly not whatever this is.
A quick search for art involving Draenei shows great examples of what would make for fantastic heritage armor, it’s truly a missed opportunity.

I dig the sash tucked into the belt. It’s a good mix of the origional conscept art and the direction that the art went from TBC to WoD and later Legion.

This set bears little more that superficial resemblance to that concept art, especially for the female draenei.
Let me put it another way - you can’t waggle in this heritage armor.

I’m gonna contradict myself here as I have two opinions.

Opinion before seeing the pics… in game things tend to look different so we don’t really know how the final thing will look. It could just look bad on display.

Opinion after seeing the pics… ugh. I am not even gonna bother with that. Hard pass.
I blame the people who kept asking for the TBC concept art for the draenei turned into heritage armor. I knew that armor would end up looking like quest greens…

Looks really good! I’m glad the TBC Draenei Concept Artwork is finally a reality.
I expected to be disappointed, and blizzard did not fail in that regard.
These sets should be so easy, just to the concept art armors but in game. Over and over it seems like they keep trying to do stuff and just end up with a goofy looking armor.
whatever, I’m sure someone out there is going to love it, I’ll just stick with current styles.

Ditch the helmet and shoulders, and the men’s oone is close enough you can go “Yeah that’s clearly trying to be that”
Problem is, of course, is that concept art draenei has different proportions to the absolute fridges we have in game

I got to strongly disagree with that. There’s already plenty of Draenei paladin sets and a couple priest sets.
The Draenei are so much more than just the Light and Blizzard has a bad habit of neglecting all aspects of Draenei culture that aren’t about the Light.
This set is far from perfect as I stated above, but I’m still very glad it’s not yet another Draenei paladin/light themed set. And that’s from someone who’s main is a Draenei paladin that frequently wears Draenei paladin sets.

The problem I have with it is it looks like a Broken Dreanei clothing set. This is the sort of thing you see the Broken wearing all the time, not the Regular Dreanei. So it looks off.
It also looks more like civilian day to day clothes, not armour.

Not at all Draenei armor imo . I was expecting something grand like what velen wears. Something that shows these are highly advanced space traveling aliens who live literal millennia and are extremely powerful in the light and magic.
If this is the final look I’m going to have to put it up there next to Worgen armor

Well they aren’t really. They are just friends with highly advanced space traveling aliens. Draenei are magically gifted and had their own kind of fancy magic tech back on Argus, but all that interdimensional tech comes from the naaru. And what’s so grand about what Velen wears? It’s just a robe with a few crystal embellishments. Our player priests wear far more ornate gear.
Looks like a level 37 dranei leveling through talador.

Why are the horns clipping in a draenei exclusive set? Was the artist in a hurry to finish this so they could make more human/elf sets and didn’t actually look how it looks on females?

The artists always design sets on male humans and then port them over to other races. So yeah, they didn’t bother to model it on female Draenei properly.

Seems like there are bandages for transmog in the game already for those that want the concept art look for the females. Just mix and match it and it might work.
(I’m a bit of a prude I’m told so I’m not as much of a fan of the concept art as most are)
