Likely my favorite heritage questline thus far, even more than the orc one (and that was a tough one to unseat).
It brings together so much of the old and new together, with a promise for a new future for the eredar as a whole.
My only complaint… is the helmet hides horns. The draenei helmet hides horns. Horns, which are notably a key feature of the draenei that are not telescopic.

and 87 years later, the paladin set from Gruul’s lair also hides horns despite it not actually covering that part of the head.
WoW… All these names… now I see in full scope what a failure Darkspear heritage is in comparison.
It’s all the little details like that, that imo matters. All these NPCs that we met along the way.
Someone clearly did their research well.
If only trolls had as much dedicated quest writer.

hugs From one super fan to another, I’m soo sorry. Hopefully someday blizz takes the trolls serious enough to do some good with them

They should hire Erevien, nobody takes trolls more seriously than him

I’d rather have my eyes pecked out by ravens than let him anywhere near WoWs lore

No, they should hire someone like me, Erevien is a grifter. I was playing Trolls since TBC.

I can tell you have a legitimate love for the trolls. Erevien just follows whatever happens to be popular on social media

Ey, Don’t disrespect Griftah, he is the only soap merchant in entire game.
And I obviosuly meant someone that is knowledgeable about the Darkspears.
Y’know I’d like to know what happened to 3 blind female mage trainers that disappeared with Cata revamp. Enyo, Deino and Pephredo. Would be nice if they appeared in company of Uthel’nay once more.
If Dranei quest designers remembered about portal trainers and 2 NPCs that were simply bickering in tavern, then there is no excuse that Trolls shouldn’t get the same treatment.
Why wasn’t Zen’Tabra there? Why Vanira wasn’t involved?
I’m honestly impressed. I come and go as my sub does, and he and Zerde have been a constant throughout the years.

Agreed.
She actually was present but just seemingly stayed in Darkspear Hold.
It’s her default place, but if you click on her, she doesn’t say anything.
It’s like some people still see Vol’Jin in Darkspear Hold, becuase they didn’t finish the questline on Echo Isles.

If it makes you feel better she does have dialogue at least. After the final quest she has the following:
We be startin’ more Darkspear on de trials now. Everybody should have de chance to connect wit’ de loa.
Though it would have been nice if she had more of a role.

This text line is such a rubbish. Darkspears were on trials for a long while in order to even train shadow hunters.
It makes my head hurt.

yea, the dranei and orc heritage really show what makes a good heritage quest, it’d be nice for everyone to get another pass

On balance, the fact that this isn’t laziness or an error but adherence to pretty obscure lore tucked away in Rise of the Horde (Durotan meets the same draenei child who’s hardly aged a day across three decades) only increases my appreciation for this heritage chain.

Draenei are the only race that ages slower as children as far as I know. Elves age roughly the same rate as humans up to adulthood then slow down. So Dornaa is still a child while Salandria is a young adult.
Well, maybe. That section is left intentionally vague. Durotan does encounter a child in the middle of a battle/raid in the same draenei settlement that he was invited into as a child. He thinks briefly that it could be the same girl that he saw on that first visit but dismisses it figuring that the child would have been grown by now, but I don’t recall there ever being confirmation one way or another.

I’ll admit don’t play Draenei (yet) — and in all honestly before I had a good dive into their lore, they were probably my most hated race due to their appeals (still don’t like Male-Draenei models) - But their race’s story actually quickly became one of my favourites!!
So I’m glad they got a good heritage questline with grand potential for their stories ahead
