Dracthyr Transmog: We need more slots than shoulders, belt (buckles), and tabards

Nope, we see none of it besides the shoulders and belts.

Customization 10/10 no transmog needed.

And don’t get me wrong… this customization is 10/10. The problem is that it stops as soon as you hit create. Whereas the vast majority of other classes (RIP Druids) get to continue their aesthetic customization in the following days, months, and years following the creation of the character.

I hope they add the option to transmog everything for people who want it. What I’d LOVE, myself, is if they de-coupled visage and dracthyr forms with shoulders and belt transmog.

I’m no technologist, but I think a good solution would be to have the ability to flag a single item in each slot for barbershop usage. Then pick the “custom” option in the barbershop, completely divorcing the dragon form from the visage form while also giving more transmog freedom (and stopping transmog items from clipping with barbershop stuff).

I agree the customization is 10/10 for the dracthyr themselves.

But the dracthyr armor customization is basically the barber which Blizzard say that armor would be added over time, but I guarantee that after 11.0 those added options won’t be touched or touched infrequently.

Where did they say this?

A long while ago I believe, I’ll link the article when I find it. But it was months ago.

This is the best I could find so far, I can’t seem to find where they said that.

In one of these images the dracthyr with armor, two of which have shoulder options not avaliable for us currently, which I assume will be added later on.

However I swore they actually stated that more options would be added later on. But ultimately what I swear means nothing if I can’t find the article in which I’m refering to, so sorry to disappoint.

I would encourage you to keep looking! That’s definitely a quote I’d like to have.

I’ll try my best! I also would like to have that quote as well. But that image with the shoulder pieces is all I have so far.

Honestly the existing options just aren’t cutting it. I’m not happy with how limited the Visage forms are, either (at the VERY least, offer male Humans and female BE’s), I’m not a fan of how frail-looking they are in general.

I think this is a matter of prioritizing what we’re asking for. Of the “big three,” I would rank them as such:

  1. Greater availability of transmog options in our draconic forms.
  2. Separated transmogs for the draconic form and visage form.
  3. More visage forms to choose from.

I also think that this is in order of ease and likelihood. They’ve already told us that 1 is doable. 2 may present some technical challenges. And 3 requires an art investment that I doubt they’re willing to make (hello Druids and Demon Hunters!).

Yeah, given some interesting “quirks” when previewing certain pieces of gear on the Dracthyr, I suspect it’s a matter of “we couldn’t finish it by launch, so we just kind of cut plans for full transmogging”. I think that was a poor decision no matter how you slice it, so having full options would go a LONG ways towards actually “selling” players on the race.

That could simply be a quirk of not having put in the perfunctory standard amount of time, though - not necessarily that it would be inherently more difficult.

This tbh. The closest race we have to Dracthyr would be Worgen with the two forms. And there your gear that you wear in normal form is the same as your Worgen true form.

Drac Thyr then I feel like should have separate tmog. It may be an issue scaling countless old armor sets to work on the dracthyr body hence why you have shoulders and belt. But then these don’t match the default armor you give your Dracthyr. In that respect I would at least appreciate an option to “Hide” your gear while in dragon form. And display it in visage form.

At least enable the floaty bits that aren’t painted on.

As much as I’m enjoying myself (to the point I haven’t been active on the forums since I’m actually loving the time I spend in-game), this is still a huge sticking point for me.

I bit the bullet and just went full armour on the Dracthyr form. But again… it’s so frustrating to be so limited in what I can choose.

Now that things have settled down a little, we’re getting into little transmog contests with my crew. All that I can tolerate are the scant few shoulder options premade to suit the barbershop armour.

I feel more and more constricted as time goes on.

I want to be able to mog helm, so my Dracthyr can wear glasses or a hat.
