Dracthyr Transmog: We need more slots than shoulders, belt (buckles), and tabards

I don’t disagree with you. My point is that for the last 18 years the Druid community has been asking for more customization options when it comes to their forms wearing some type of armor. Blizzard have said and shown they can do it, but won’t expand on it.

I’m not saying that Druids should be wearing class gear. But some extra additional customizations would go a long way.

Much like the Dracthyr have.

Should the Dracthyr wear normal gear? Absolutely. Of the Draenei frame supports it, I don’t see why the Dracthyrs shouldn’t.

All I’m saying is that Blizz have a tendency to not deliver on player requests, even if it’s possible for them to do.

Can they at least deliver on their own implications, then?

When we make things like tier sets, we know that this armor is custom-made for the Evoker, and so we can do more things than we could do elsewhere.

Very, very true. Definitely a slippery slope.

Still, I hope this flood of feedback on the Dracthyr will pressure the devs to actually giving them REAL transmog options. Even if it’s not until 10.2 or something, I think it’s a pretty sad state to not be able to wear armor.

Well, here’s hoping. Right now, I’d settle for being able to transmog both my Drakonid and Visage forms separately. Having different colored shoulders and belt from the rest of the armor makes me look like a clown.

Either that, or my Visage form has to be very simple.

This topic is the hill I’ll die on, and that quote is the straw you’ll find grasped in my hand.

i understand why shoulders got picked but who went to work high as senator socks and said you know what lets make belts visible also? any other slot would have been better to pick over this with the coolest being alot more work but make cloaks be armor or something for wings maybe tattoo patterns on them or something

yeah blizz just needs to turn on permanent visage form,

done, solved

That’s called a Blood Elf male or Human female Mage.

The dragon class explicitly exists to play as a dragon.

I think belt was chosen because, like the shoulders, it doesn’t need to wrap around anything. You can just glue the 3D geometry on.

shoulders are things people base transmog around so its understandable that was picked. half the time i dont have a belt visible

Precisely. It’s unobtrusive and relatively low effort. It’s not going to clash with the barbershop options, either.

I absolutely love how minimal the armor is while still allowing coverage. I’m so tired of all the heavy, bulky and overly detailed armor we’ve had the past several expansions and are looking to get this time around. So having a race with limited options doesn’t bother me. I’m sure I’m in the minority for this topic but whatever. Simple, clean lines will always be better than heavy bulky imo.

I wouldn’t suggest that they remove the barbershop armour to “make room” for real transmog. What I’m after is options and choice.

And who knows? In a few years of staring at the same set, you might want to explore a look that diverges from “draconic regal.”

Oh I’m by no means saying don’t add more options. Just that I love the simplicity. As long as I can continue to have my less is more without being skimpy/naked, they can add all the extra slots they want for mogs. Same with the visage, I don’t like it, I don’t want it to be a permanent thing without the option to not use it as well.

Fair enough!

And again - it’s not that I dislike the barbershop look. It’s just that it’s a singular look that we’re going to be restricted to until the servers shut down. That’s the part that doesn’t sit well with me.

i want more chainmail options for mail and plate. i dont need everything to be bulky but i like having the option to throw armor on

There are surprisingly few literal mail sets in the game.

mail is the most ignored armor type in the game

Exactly what I’ve been saying ever since they were announced. They could have made mogging work if they put in the effort, but they decided to cut corners.

And the recent interview with Morgan Day explicitly states that it’s possible.
