Can’t believe that Blizz didn’t reneg on this, it’s literally free positive publicity, which they desperately need after OW2 and the fact that the new expansion seems rushed.

I agree… reduce CD to zero. However:
- This would only apply in Dragon Isles after dragon riding is unlocked; and
- Vigor would be shared with dragon riding and would recover at the same rate.
Without these changes, there’s still no reason to use Soar in Dragon Isles. Why use an ability with a 1-minute CD when the mount has no CD? Also the mount gets increased ground speed even when not flying.

give the race the ability to fly with their wings just like a mount wherever they can fly.
give them a Soar speed bonus they can use while in flight with a CD.

I would like to see the cooldown reduction as well.
Nice to see that the talents will affect it.
I’d even say it’d be something cool to expand to other winged classes. Maybe give druids a drake travel form or make the bird forms compatible.
Maybe even as an option demon hunters and their wings.
Any other race or class where it makes sense, add it as an option.
Maybe do a questline to unlock or some such.
Playable Stoneborn that can also fly that way…oooh

Today is day 1 of Dracthyr Evokers.
Even with launch around the corner, I will not stop until Soar has no CD
Make it either function as a standard flying mount, or make it function the same as a proper dragon riding mount.

With the idea that flying takes energy to do, and they need to catch their breath, it doesn’t break fantasy for me.
Though I do think I’d breaks some fun points.
If that logic mattered, then all mounts and druid flight form would have the same logic applied to them. Are you saying that should be how it is for them too?

apparently that only applies to our player characters then, since the NPCs can fly like normal? sure makes sense
seriously, not being able to fly is a major detriment to this race. it needs changed. soar needs to be identical to dragon riding, and they need a flying form for old content

I have to agree with this thread, there shouldn’t be any reason why Dracthyr can’t fly. They have the racial to do so and it plays into the fantasy of a MMORPG. After quiting wow for years and came back to give Dragonflight a chance, this type of hindrance on the new race is really putting a damper on the start of this expansion for me already. I just really hope there will be mechanisms to reduce the cooldown entirely when everyone gets dragon riding started. Thats the only thing giving me hope. If not, I will probably not stick stick with the expansion long as I did with BFA and Shadowlands.

Soar would be fine since it gets dragon riding stuff later in xpac to where the cd comes down to a minute. BUT drac’s should imo have flight form (able to use the wings glued to them) just like the worgs have running wild. Seems nutty not to be able to fly with your own wings given the race…

Yep.
Once you discover the whole map of the Dragon Isles and fully unlock all of your Dragonriding talents, Soar’s CD is reduced to 1 min.
