I feel like these specs are just doing too many things. I definitely do not look forward to the newest spec if Devastation and Preservation are any indicators of just how multi-faceted and overtuned the class is…
This would be fine if they just were tuned down but I can’t see myself ever wanting to play the ugly dragon race that cannot use mogs.
I love DF but I’d love if this class never existed.

Evoker. Evoker is the class. Dracthyr is the race.
The two desperately need to be decoupled yesterday.
Evoker’s were C tier DPS all of VoTI, and S tier healers… Now they’re S tier dps, and B tier healers. They have a… frankly garbage… buff, and heroism.
Speccing into single target removes 90% of your aoe damage. Speccing into aoe damage removes a huge chunk of your single target damage. They have some of the clunkiest self-healing in the game, albeit too strong of defensives.
Where exactly are all these “facets” ?

I’ve got a 3.3k Pres from last season, and 2800 Pres from this season. I ended S1 at 2.2k in RSS on Pres as well.
Counting JUST personal defensives (i.e. no spirit link, barrier, ancestral wall, etc - JUST personal, this applies to me and only to me buttons, meaning no Temp->Verd->Emerald, no Temp->Reversion anti-burst, no Rewind, no 5-wide Beacon spam, no Radiancex2+Hymn. JUST your buttons that make you take less damage, or avoid damage easier.)
Double Obsidian, Time of Need, Hoverx2->cast/move, Renewing blaze, verdant embrace for instant self heal cleave, to name a few… Compared to Disc Priest, RShaman, hPal, and rDruid - Evoker has two more CD’s… and they’re stronger than most other classes defensive CD’s, as well.
More defensive utility than any other healer - and significantly more defensive healing cooldowns, as well. Just much lower generic throughput because the healing in raids can’t be targeted intelligently (breath hits who it hits, so does spirit, so does TA)
Evoker toolkit is in a good place so far as button bloat goes, but comparing 1-to-1 on Pres throughput/panic buttons/defensive CD’s will show you fairly hand-over-fist Evoker has too many defensive options.
With no offense intended, your evoker is 700 M+ rating, and 425 ilvl. I think a bit more gear/experience will benefit you greatly.
You are dramatically underestimating how good it is to take 15% of a movement CD away, especially for the Evoker because of how hover works.
I’ve been playing Prevoker since Beta and most of those aren’t defensives our defensives are Obsidian Scales, Zephyr and if your Preservation Time Dilation which you usually wanna save for someone else.
I am experienced and I don’t understand why my IL is that big of a deal to you as for M+ rating I don’t do much M+ was planning on it but Blizzard added a barrier of entry for Healers of being able to afford an hour of therapy every damn week.

Uhhh dunno what you’re thinking but Evoker has some of the strongest defenses for a caster/healer. Two charges of 30% DR, Renewing Blaze and fantastic mobility. Most casters have like half of that and some, such as Priest, have none.
Delete Iron Dwarfs and Demon Hunters leave Evoker alone.
On a 1 minute 30 second cooldown and lasts 12 seconds yes it’s a nice defensive.
Is a glorified Self Heal it doesn’t stop or reduce damage just heals it back over 8 seconds.
Is not a defensive it’s Utility.
You can paint it however you want but fact is Evokers have some of the lowest damage taken in raids.
Well not that hard if you know what you’re doing
