Dracthyr rant

It’s safe to say that the nefarian experiments for the only dragons able to reproduce since the dragonflights lost their power. So that’s the why I’m assuming.

…what exactly is that?

It has been confirmed that Dracthyr can infact perform dragonflight. You won’t gain points and bonuses in it, but in Dracthyr form, you can actually do it.

Its lazy to create something completely new than to utilize an old concept?

Interesting mind you have.

Pamdaren were never a joke character.

Stop making disingenuous assertions.

Can you show me the lore that was retconned?
Apparently the pre 10000 years lore was never fully explored. Even the Chronicle Book has their gaps about it.

Pretty sure the Dracthyr were created prior to Neltharion succumbing to the whispers of the Old Gods and being driven mad.

:open_mouth: It’s cool they can do it, but I’d like the perks other classes get with the Dragon-riding feature - such as those points & bonuses, even if you had to do a questline or get a prestigious item to earn it.

The models are why I won’t play one, If they were to come up with something cool and aesthetic to what brought me to Warcraft in the first place I certainly wouldn’t hope that some cryptic lore stipulations would be the thing stopping them.

A female drakonid, the creative rendering courtesy of Hearthstone!

I think the difference is that Drakonid were once human type races. They were empowered by the dragons and became a sort of half human/dragon person… Dracthyr were never human. They seem to be Dragons infused with mortal potential, basically (though I could be proven wrong). It boils down to aesthetics though. I never really liked the Drakonid models. I always found them too bulky.

The new Dracthyr are exactly what I wanted in a Dragonkin kind of race however. I wouldn’t be opposed to them adding more muscled body types as long as it remained a choice, but I don’t really want them to ever look like that picture you posted. :frowning:

So a more masculine body type is okay.

But not a more feminine.

Got it.

How is more muscled masculine? It’s the difference between thin and thick. I was thinking more like Norn vs Humans in GW2 for instance.

This isn’t a sexism thing. This is a dragon races don’t need breasts thing and I was looking forward to playing a reptilian race WITHOUT breasts again. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah… my mistake did not realize the following was not included here:

They don’t even have to include the breasts since so many people are (understandably) critical of mammary glands on a reptile, the clearly female shape is enough for me.

I will correct that.

I think having a race that doesn’t appeal to everybody not only ok, but inevitable.

They should embrace quality over customization.

The problem is that you would give to the horde the races of the alliance and vice versa. They should just have made it a class accessible to every race and shift in dragon form like druids.

There is a troll who handles anniversary quizzes, a goblin that was the one who saved Wrathian by sacrificing herself and child.

Oh.

… she’s hot.

I agree . Not everything has to be a new flavor of elf

Dragonkin have always been described as half-dragon, half-humanoid. Their having mammalian features is, well, to be expected…
