xD you just cant take the L. thats fine man im pretty happy with my findings and blizz will back it up by keeping them a single class race :). good chat tho.

Seems like you didn’t look at zandrae link and took the L when you made baseless claims that blood elves and Nightborne drop their magic. And to that Zandrae provided a source countering this claim

Except that they said they are open to adding more classes in the future. Just not at launch.

Edit: Also you mean to tell me that blood elves wouldn’t use magic to help them lift heavy weapons as fury? Lmfao nooope

nobody said becoming a warrior is hard xD what a moot point. the point here is WHY would they and that has to be backed by lore and you cant even SPECULATE a reason for dracs to be warrior other than “swords tho” idk man kinda smooth brain if you ask me  ve got a pretty solid backing to lore on my answer and the man you references because youre 100% incapable of finding any sources yourself (probably just because youre trolling and im biting) his also has lore reason and i dont see a single one that outside of speculation says “theyre warriors cause it wasnt that hard” lol

Piggybacking off your comment, and I know this is from a while ago, but I’m saying this lol. Player agency in their own storytelling and fantasy is not the same as the world lore.

It really shouldn’t matter if some people don’t like the idea of “Night elf paladin” or “tauren rogue” if the person actually playing that character enjoys it or has a cool concept for their character.

What it really comes down to is limiting player agency and expression and personally, I’m over it. The dracthyr visage is the closest thing I’ve seen to what I really envision my characters as (mostly humanoid with a few distinguishing animal/dragon features), and not a single one of my characters will be able to play one.

I like a lot of what I’ve seen in regards to the expansion, but I don’t like blizzard doubling down on exclusive nonsense for “lore” that isn’t even in the game yet. There’s frankly no excuse for this race to not ship with the ability to be a vast majority of classes, if not all. It’s the first “full” race we’ve gotten since, I think pandaren, and anybody who wants to try them out should be able to, when the expansion ships.

I can understand doing only one class to buy them time to do more animations for other classes. But in the long term I don’t see why they couldn’t expand more.

Legit asked zandrae to source this? Because I couldn’t even link it
Edit: respond to the other posters then if you think I am trolling. Seems to me you no can’t take the L as you aren’t moving on.

Aren’t they supposed to be created by neltharion?

Neltharion could just as easily have turned them into whatever class he wanted to.

It could literally be as simple as saying “You were created to be a warrior (or mage or druid or whatever) to help my evokers learn how to best fight and utilize their strategies”

The lore doesn’t actually exist yet, it can be anything, so why does it have to stay exclusive?

Legit if they said they couldn’t do to limitations not in lore but designs and they don’t want to work on it currently i would accept that but the fact they said they are open to more classes in future already disproved the claim of the poster.

Rigging is a pain (it’s tedious and time consuming) and animation can be annoying too.

But yeah I don’t see the problem long term.

Exactly I think I already stated I’ll probably make one even though I would prefer they be warriors but no one here is arguing for them not to uniquely have evokers. We just want more class options and I changed my tune i think having quests to unlock their new classes would be fun

But Neltharion specified that he wanted soldiers to be a combination of the Humanoid and dragonflight essence.
therefore he always wanted them to be evoker or whatever he wanted to call it.
Basically Dracthyr using the 4-5 Dragonflight powers

You clearly didn’t pay attention. They said ONLY Dracthyr COULD be evokers, and that Evokers would were Mail as a class. They then very cheekily worded it to where one of DF patches or 11.0 will give us more class options, likely starting at lvl.10 in SW or Org, like my idea. It’s the EXACT same wording they gave when talking about Vulpera during BfA’s announcement and their interviews. It is likely already planned for something, or somekind of Class Skin system to be added that Drachyr can use, they just want to give the Evoker identity for their race a time to shine.

All Dragons have been shown in WoW to use every spell from the Mage Spec. Reds use the fire Spells, and Blues use both Arcane and Frost. Not to mention that Elisande and the Nightborne are said to share some aspects of the Bronze powers in their usage of Time magic, which is apart of Arcane.

So mage fully fits the class fantasy of a Dragon, as not all of their knowledge would be explicitly linked to just their flight’s power. Especially when you consider that Blues are the protectors of ALL magic.

Beyond that Shamans come to mind, given the origins of WoW dragons being elementals. Heck even the first DF raid has us fighting Primal Elemental Dragons.

Other then that, MAYBE a druid or Monk could make sense do to wisdom and the Greens emerald dream presence, but I think those two are super weak in comparison lore wise.

then of course Warrior, makes sense because why couldn’t a dragon be a warrior. Maybe rogue could work depending on how they swing it.

Granted, I don’t think ALL of these should be options, but just my initial thoughts on how THEY could potentially be those things.

On what one? That I’m agreeing with people that certain race/class restrictions make sense like Drachtyr being the only allowed Evokers? That’s not saying that Dracthyr as a race shouldn’t be able to branch out into Warrior and what not. Heck, we see Dragonkin with weapons as in Azeroth.

I was honestly kinda shocked at all the options Vulpera got, not gonna lie, lol. They still have the best totems too, lmao.

The first raid will see us kill 4 ancient Primal Dragons. Your wish has been granted.

Yes they can. In fact, they did.

You don’t need to be lk level to raise death knights, just another powerful dk or lich would suffice.

Also dracthyr did not originate on dragon isles and we killed some of their kin in cata, just the wingless ones.

This lore isn’t even real yet, so if lore is the only argument against this, just change the lore.

we killed dragonkin soldiers and generals.
But not the Dracthyr created by Neltharion and put to slumber when the Dragon Isles where hidden.

Yes once we as DK Overlord … or ka what the title is step onto the Dragon Isles we could Raise them as DK. but only then.

Blizz: creates lore …
you: Meh its dumb lore better change it to fit my fantasy

It doesn’t work like that tho

The entire design of dracthyr was baised on a boss in natherians lair, and npcs like him.

It’s not hard to include the ones killed during that time as death knights or what ever class if some managed to survive.
