Exactly another point. This isn’t JUST a CLASS, it’s ALSO a RACE. Meaning by their own definitions, it should have more then 1 Class option, is all.
Otherwise Evoker should’ve been a class, that certain races got, where it just gave them the dang dragon form as an option.

Well Ion specifically said something like, there are enough melee classes in the game now, so thats not likely. I mean, thats not to say he couldnt change his mind because he obviously has before but the play style of the Evoker seems more designed for swooping and flying and diving, not sure how they would adapt it to standing in place and smacking things.

Your opinion doesn’t offend me at all. Don’t try and escalate a discussion into a proper disagreement with inane attempts to bait.
If you don’t like it, fine. Others have the right to let Blizzard know that we want to be able to play the new race but we want to perform our chosen role (i.e. tanking.)
Healers and DPS can play it and that is great but EVERY other race in the game can perform all roles. Making an exception for this one–when it is a type of race that has been requested for over a decade is absurd.
It needlessly excludes a portion of the playerbase for no benefit.
Until Cata, Blood Elves couldn’t be Warriors.
- Other classes have vastly different playstyles in their specs.
- I’m fine with Evoker not getting any more specs, honestly and it makes sense to me. What doesn’t make any sense, is that they’d go through the trouble of making a race for us, to not even let us have more then 1 class, and that class can’t do 1/3 of the end game content.

They decided in this case they want dracthyr to be their own thing.
They know everyone won’t like that. They said they are doing it anyway. Many of us respect that. They are their own thing. cool

And the the melee Dps would be piss off they if they put any other class in like a tank

I don’t think it’s analogous because it’s not the same thing.
Melee dps and ranged dps are both DPS. They’re the same role.
Tanking is akin to healing; in that it serves a completely different purpose and appeals to a different kind of player. Dracthyr are currently excluding that kind of player.
To add to the discussion I had seemed to forgot to add death knights to my initial list of classes.
Death knights feature is to be able play as a death knight with all races available.
Dracthyr should be no exception to that rule.

Thats probably true.
I mean, if I sit and think seriously about, why not have a tank class? There are other dragonkin races in the game, like the Drakonid. If they gave the race the ability to transform into this sort of thing when swapping to a tank, they could certainly fill that spot.

I actually agree and just think that evoker/Dracthyr should have a tank spec in-line with that vision and fantasy so that it doesn’t exclude players.
Asking for other classes to be added is honestly a band-aid.
They are an exception to that rule as they only awoke after the recent troop expansion before Shadowlands
Then they should just be a class, not a race.
The problem with them being both, is tgat a wise player would recognize that they would only be a class with no racial features. You could give dracthyr specs to druids, racial ability lock them and none would be no different then what they are advertised now.
The above applies to you too.
Also there is dead dracthyr to raise since cata.
That would be an interesting option. I just doubt that we will see them budge from what we have. I’m expecting we are getting exactly what we are told we are getting. I can live with that

As far as the lore goes they were all in slumber on the dragon Isles
We killed one as a boss. It won’t be far fetched that the horde/alliance killed more like him.

I’m not sure if they’d budge on that either.
PART of me, almost wonders if this is the next SONIC conspiracy. Blizz has shown they are more willing to listen to player feedback from 9.1 onward. So I wouldn’t be entirely shocked if enough demand either got them 1 - 3 extra classes, or simply put a tanking spec.
BUT the reason I wonder about the conspiracy, is that they said EACH spec for Dracthyr focuses on TWO of the dragons powers,
DPS - Red/Blue
Heals - Green/Bronze
But they didn’t say anything about the Black dragons, other then that they are also part of the Dracthyr, so IMO either black is shared in both specs, OR they have a secret tank spec they’re still building, and might relase later as a “see guys, we listened” kind of thing.
