Don’t be a jerk about it. 
I agree we need a new ranged/healer class. That’s sorely needed. That being said, there’s nothing stopping it from also being able to tank or them having access to another class option.
That literally does nothing save open the race up to more players with ZERO downsides. There is no reason to be against it as it doesn’t affect you. lol

you are very right the dracthyr would have to have more classes the typical case would be the shaman class although the aspects descend or were baptized by the original elements and filled with magic

Amen. They give us this cool new race with an interesting play style, and people are like “Give em a 1h sword and shield or a gun and send them into combat!”
Blizz just needs to add a tank spec that utilizes their unique abilities. But no other classes.
I am a developer and know how much work goes into just a super simple database application. If everyone got what they wanted the new expac would release in 2025 instead of 2023. I am fine with everything they have said so far and looking forward to it. They could add a new tank spec for the dragon people but I am guessing that won’t be coming at launch. Kind of like frost dk’s when Wrath launched without weapon spells.

Oh trust me, I know.
I develop a lot of mods–which isn’t exactly the same but is similar–and it is very time consuming. Even something that seems simple can easily have dozens of hours sunk into it.
Management on the business side of things is the only reason I can see that they wouldn’t add a tank of some kind.
Even if it isn’t available on launch, I hope they add the ability to tank (whether as an evoker or another class) at a later date!

This “community” can’t agree on anything. That’s why people are so negative now. No matter what Blizzard does, someone feels screwed over.

The Dracthyr were in slumber shortly after they were created …
They never had to fight in close combat for that matter.
Where would they even get the skills to be any other class?
Give the expansion some time. IMHO Dracthyr will be able to change their class further in the story… Maybe.
A mage tank would be awesome.
I play mage tanks in every game that offers one. They’re a lot of fun, and a battlemage type tank is something WoW is sorely missing.
But you’re missing the point. Ultimately, it’s not that the CLASS can’t tank, but that the RACE can’t tank that folks are taking issue with.

The guy that designed that left the company. So the resources that went to that is now free.
That was due to external forces more then the companies fault. A managers job is to adapt plans to it, not butcher them, as such it is 100% their own failure that happened, not the customers.

No, but you could use courses into management to understand that your in the wrong, espaicially in the investment part, as of right now dracthyr might as well not even exist as a race but instead just be a class that is similar to druids. They need more options for that investment to have any real returns.

Blizzard said they can only be a caster that it all done you can wish and if they change in the fu so be it but for now they are caster and I am glad
I’m glad that the evokers are casters too but I’m disappointed that the Dracthyr cannot tank. lol
It just feels like a bad decision. Why block a large section of players (all tanks) from being able to play the race? Especially when the new race is one of the few new things we’re actually getting.
It’s bizarre.

The point is a lot of races can tank but the dragon one are caster and that class is all there dh can only be blood Elves and night elves I think those would get other before the dragon
And because the dracthyr cannot be more classes, although the vulperas and the mechagnomes they had little lore and there were many classes and They even got the death knight class. h

And now they’ve woken up and can wander around Azeroth as they see fit. This is why I think giving them the “allied race” treatment with regard to other classes makes perfect sense. You first must play an Evoker to 70. Then you unlock the ability to play other Dracthyr who have decided to explore Azeroth and take up new skills (new classes).
Locking a highly desirable race fantasy (dragon people) to a single class is a huge mistake.
