Ah yes, I knew someone was bound to make the very first thread about this eventually!

I like the way they look. They look like dragons. I think that is what they are supposed to look like.

They should have never made visage form.

I managed to get a set up I actually really like with the Dracthyr but it took a lot of time.

I do think limiting the transmogs for them and giving us armor in the dressing room was a mistake. It’s just a matter of time before that armor becomes outdated and just looks bad with the new gear coming out.

Drakthyr ran into limitations of the game engine, honestly. The drakthyr model has more in common with an NPC model than a normal player model, including being unable to wear armor because its UV mapping it totally different.

Visage form was likely a compromise to allow armor to show out of combat, with the logic that “it works for druids”.

Sounds like a you problem as my Dragon looks amazing! Maybe learn how to transmog? ./shrug

It really just needs the option to hide belt shoulders and tabard if you want when in dragon form. If they could be separate it would be perfect. Trying to match those to the few armor colors in the barbershop is annoying. Plus you can’t just have a plain dragon without the shoulders if you want shoulders on your visage.

I think it’d be better if they got more creative tabards and made a bunch of them with all the simple colors/color combinations. Sucks to only have a belt and shoulders with nothing that matches well.

Not having full transmog means not being a full race. You can’t be these dragonoids while at the same time just being an odd human. Pick a lane and commit. If they had done so it wouldn’t seem half-arsed.

Sucks because Evoker is actually fun. Of course it would be a new Mail class that causes a bunch of problems.

My biggest problem is the lack of transmog in dragon form. I really hate it, but I love the race though. Even if I would’ve prefered Sethrak…

But honestly, I just really really want to be able to wear actual pants in dragon form. It sounds very silly to some, but its very annoying to me that I can’t wear actual pants that don’t show any skin lol.

But that would be fixed with transmog. Or they could put effort into making trousers an option, but I definitely don’t see that happening.

And if they unfortunately don’t make full transmog support for Dracthyr, they should at minimum make the dragon and visage form have separate transmog.

Beside no transmog being a strong contender for worst design choice ever made for a race, the one thing I can’t wrap my head around is this: the dracthyr armor options are already so limited…WHY SEPARATE THEM INTO TWO DIFFERENT STYLES??? IT ADDS NOTHING.

Its so weird in general that Blizzard is so anti-transmog when we can see from almost all other games that transmog is THE major selling point / issue, always.

Also just seems weird they decided to have this kind of “unfinished” system of limited cosmetic choices instead of going the Druid route and just giving us different “Dragonform” skins over the course of the xpac and future content updates.

Maybe they just didnt have time to do what they really wanted to and had to ship the current version and are just /ignoring any feedback since they dont want to bother putting out the fire(s).

I dont want to believe that after 19 years they thought that THIS is what the majority of people would like.

Edit: Still am clinging to my #copium/#hopium that they will have Draktyr focused content when they unlock different classes to also do QoL updates like proper soar / hover and visage race choices >_<

What

With all their restrictions that dont make sense.

They said they wouldnt let you transmog cross armor type cause PvP players would get confused. But then they release cosmetic sets which screw that reasoning over, yet no changes.

You can change your weapon type with legion artifacts (e.g. 2h-Staff into 1h-Sword+OH) but you cant do that with “normal” weapons.

Took them almost 20 years to enable you being able to collect other armor type transmogs (feature in TWW).

They HAVE a transmog system and with some issues (like dyes) I understand the engine limitations they like to quote. But the majority of restrictions they set on us are completely arbitrary since they work for specifc pieces.

Its the same with toys randomly having high lvl requirement, zone requirement and almost all of them having messed up cooldowns.

Its anti-fun.

Blizzard please ade full transmog support for Dracthyr.

The new tierset in TWW literally don’t match ANY of the barbershop armor options, just like the rest of the Evoker tiersets but turned up to 100.

And when you open Dracthyr up to more classes it is going to be absolutely awful. There are 0 reasons on why Dracthyr shouldn’t have transmog. They are literally more humanoid than Tauren, and yet they have full transmog support.

Like, I have absolutely no clue how this was greenlit. It boggles my mind that such a stupid choice was made to not add such a basic feature to a new race. And it’s 10 times more ridiculous that Dracthyr can’t even wear the Evoker tierset. And even more so that the Evoker tierset colors don’t match ANY of the barbershop armor colors.

Like… what were they honestly thinking???

Dont know which is worse, that potentially the art and design department doesnt play the game / doesnt know about the game so they get told "Make a dragon themed armor set and they give it their all only for it to never be seen since the dragon cant use it.

Or, and that one is more likely, they keep forgetting that a probable majority of the playerbase actually cares about how their character looks and they (blizz) dont do anything to help.

Like I’ve said before, we can see from almost any new and loads of older games that cosmetics and transmog is usually in the top three most desired / requested and used features of a game, in almost every genre. But for some reason Blizz is still going the direction of “meh, why bother”. Really weird.

My biggest wish for my Dracthyr looks is to completely separate Dragonoid mog from Visage mog. I feel like I am not asking for much.

This annoys me so much, especially with casters. We don’t use our weapons at all, why does it matter what it looks like?

At least melee have the excuse of mainhand/offhand vs two handed damage and animations, but still.

I think they should never of made that dragon form ngl LOL

I like switching back and forth, it’s a fun option for RP.

But they should have given the Dracthyr form more customization, especially armor colors, with its own transmog separate from visage.

The Michelle Visage form should have been any other race on your faction, with no extra customizations, switchable at any barbershop, with a separate transmog. And maintain any spells that auto turn you into Dracthyr and back again as it is now.

Wouldn’t change how I play my Dracthyr, but it would have solved so many issues with the race.
