I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to a 1h+shield earthwarden spec either. shaman tank would be pretty poggers
Good, keep up the pressure and we might get it sooner. Or at least add warrior to the class list for the race. Which is what I’d prefer anyway.
I certainly wouldn’t mind another universal spec class. we haven’t exactly had an everything class since monks. DH’s I understand given they’re not exactly one I would expect to heal, but having command of all draconic schools of primal magic would make a compelling tank.
DK and DH are Hero classes…
Both serve 2 roles tank and m dps.
Evoker is also a Hero class
This time serving heal and r dps role.
Monk was not a Hero class
They were a normal addition in Pandaria.
They could be every role.
Yes and? Doesn’t mean they can’t add another spec and another role. The fixation on numbers doesn’t really adress anything other than the fact you like the number 2
It is not me that implemented this history…
Hero classes are special.
They always started at a higher level, were restricted at the start of the expansion and always provided 2 roles.
Again Evoker is a Hero class too.
They provide exactly 2 roles for players.
They are spellcaster based in their lore.
Why should we change that concept?
Also Ion: This class is initially only going to have two specializations, there’s certainly room in the future to add a third
I know, reading is hard.
Funny that you say that…
The Dracthyr are an intellect class for both specializations. As for weapons (subject to change), similar to what Shamans can use - but with the addition of swords and removal of shields.
Dracthyr Tank spec is unlikely. This is a spellcaster class at its core. The class is initially only going to have two specializations, but if they do have a third, ranged dps and healer is where they’re focused.
He did say in an interview that if they added a third spec, it would also be a caster.
What about that interview made you think tank was a possibility? He was pretty adamant that it was a ranged only class.
Druids are spellcasters, specialists of the lore’s green magic but casters none the less. Transformations via visage has already been established as true shapeshifting, to say a spellcaster can’t be tank is factually incorrect with the existance of druids.
If you’d read anything about Dracthyr or dragons…
Visages are Illusions, not shape shifting.
And again Druids are no Hero class…
That said their melee spec doesn’t utilizes intelligence…
Doesn’t it hurt to stretch that far?
I watched the interview. He said they may add a third, BUT it’s probably going to be ranged dps. They have no plans to make it a tank.
You do understand that “in the future” in that context means “not during Dragonflight”, right?
In the asmon and Towlie Interview he said there are no plans for a tanks spec. He said there are already plenty of tank classes. He said the 3rd spec would most likely be ranged dps.
I want to know why people seem to want a tank spec so bad but nobody wants to play one in-game.
A new tank spec will not fix this problem.
And there’s not plenty of DPS? /facepalm
You need about 3 dps for every tank. AND there has been 0 new ranged DPS added since the game was launched. One ranged DPS spec was even taken away.
