I think you’re missing the point of the post. I’m asking everyone what they’ve come up with and what could be interesting at a story capacity, which could be literally anything.

Here you go.
You the real MvP!
The Neo-Dracthyr (my name for them) have different origins than the Evokers we created in Dragonflight. It’s considerably truncated compared to them.
I did not have a backstory for this character until my interaction with the original High Ranger of our guild. I would suggest that it’s not bad idea to wait until you’ve chosen a timeline with Chromie and let a backstory suggest itself in play.
Huh?? How did warlocks exist back then? <.<
Emberthal says to Drac warlocks that Nethalarion was also a master of the Dark Arts. I guess it was a nod to his void corruption
Tbh I also think Warlock was a bit of a stretch. Priest you could make an argument for Spriests drawing power from the void, which was already present, and Holy/Disc could be them drawing power from the Titans somehow.
I have thoughts on this. I really like the idea that warlocks are just magic users who use Dark Magics of any kind. That’s such a neat idea over them just being all demons and fel magic.
If this is route they meant, would that mean that canonically Dracthyr warlocks lean more towards the Affliction spec since it’s less about demons and fel magic? Obviously they can be any spec, and can learn how to use demons and fel from other warlocks, but fresh right out the gate since demons weren’t around when they were put into stasis, to me it would imply they were all Affliction warlocks. Kind of cool!
It’s possible. I suspect some Drac warlocks, especially affliction specced ones, studied Shadowflame for a while and were able to bend it to their will without falling to it’s corrupting influence
But that’s just my personal theory
Kinda wished Dracthyr could be shamans. Neltharion did have connections to the Earth Elementals before he made his bargain with N’zoth. As noted by Kor.
It’ll happen…they have to do things like totem design.
That Warlock line… it was kind of confusing trying to figure out how Warlocks existed among the Dracthyr, as far as knowledge of the Legion.
I guess “dark arts” involving what ever Neltharion gave us access to / wanted to share, which probably was not much.
When they talk about falling to corruption, I am thinking “falling? perhaps I will gently glide”
Warlocks use shadow magic as well.
Just think of shadow bolt.
However, there can’t be cool class lore for dracthyr because dracthyr aren’t cool.
They’re Jar Jar Binks with wings.
“Meesa use souls to fuel meesa spell work.”
If Jar Jar were a Warlock, he may have had more fans.
I had hoped that nobody would bring that up. But it’s true.
Darth Jar Jar is very popular, too.
I knew that I should have submitted my application to Hogwarts earlier!!!
So Evokers were like the elite and the other classes were rank and file?
Correct. Evokers are the best of the best, the rest just did whatever they became good at basically. Not all Dracthyr were Evokers.
Pretty much. A lot of folks forget, or simply didn’t know, that not all the Dracthyr were able to become Evokers. There’s a book you can find in the War Creche of the Forbidden Reach called Edicts: Evoker
Every dracthyr is an expert soldier. Whatever weyrn they serve, they use their talents to defend dragonkind in obedience to the Earth-Warder.
Yet even among such illustrious ranks, there are a select few who transcend the skills of their kin. Who are able to master the specialties of all weyrns and shift between roles at will.
These are the evokers. The best of the best, finest of the finest.
These elite forces possess the rare potential to focus their essences into an instrument of preservation or a weapon of devastation.
The journey to such mastery is long, and few dracthyr can see this path through. But those who learn to harness their full potential shall be honored with the title of evoker.
Yes, unlike other races, Dracthyr got their Hero Class first.
