I have been here on and off since 2004. I know about Tuesday maintenance.
But its 2023. Last week we had an 10 hour shut down, then small shutdowns all week long… Now today another 5-6 hour shutdown?
Are you servers that old or are you shorthanded or what’s going on?
I am going to be honest, for the first time in a while, you make me go play other games and during that time I realize why you player base is so low… Your long down times make people play other games lol.
I mean, as a business person, wouldn’t you want to do your maintenance say at 4am PST? Wouldn’t that make a HUGE difference??? This isn’t rocket science here but I think you are based in California which as we all know is ground zero for weird working conditions.
they think their take is so unique after 18 years that blizzard will see it and suddenly say “wow you know what they’re right, doing maintenance on tuesday morning for 18 years has been going SO badly, thank goodness someone finally brought up this idea!”
As a business person you may realize your employees, under most circumstances, would not want to wake up at 2-3 AM for their workshift. Even for an night owl that’s an awfully awkward time slot.
Most of the extra maintenances have been an hour minus. I’d rather they be gung ho about fixing things than letting it fester.
Gentlemen, I would kindly suggest that you exercise a considerable degree of patience, for the duration of this shutdown. While it is true that World of Warcraft is a popular pastime for many, there exist a multitude of other activities that can be undertaken to occupy your time and attention. I implore you to broaden your horizons, to discover and explore new and exciting prospects, to ensure that these four hours are not squandered in boredom, but are instead utilized to their fullest potential.
Some of us enjoy this, I was thinking of transferring to the Shutdown Server where the game is only up 8 or 9 minutes a week.
Anyone know if I just leave the battle.net window open will patches start automatically when they are ready? Seems like all this week every time I sat down to play the game I had to wait for a download.
Relax, its says 4 hours but it usually is longer. Sue me…
If you had read my post, I am wondering why they just don’t move the start time earlier. I know everyone likes to read their own posts but really read it next time through before you drool to post a “got em” response.
Why? Because we’ve had 2-3 recently that were longer than usual and extended?
You can check pretty much every tuesday since the xpac started. I’d put money that we’ve had normal 1 hour downtimes for the vast majority.
Wrong. Not for tuesday maintenance.
Also you are the one malding over the regular tuesday downtime day.
^ Chicken that out.
As someone who has worked graveyards. It’s not fun. Imagine being a tech company having to do an all nighter just so a handful of impatient whiners were happy. The vast majority really don’t care.
Apply common sense before you try to turn what ever table you think you have.
It’s literally tuesday maintenance rofl
Just came here to start a thread. There’s been at least 6 instances of downtime in the last week. This is getting ridiculous. We should definitely be credited with game time.
It is not possible to appease every individual and their schedule, as there will always be those who are dissatisfied with the chosen time. For instance, if the maintenance were to be performed during the early hours of the morning at 4am, players residing in the Asian and Oceanic regions would express similar concerns as you have presented now. Furthermore, it is a common practice for maintenance to be carried out during regular working hours, as it would not be reasonable to expect individuals to be awake and available for work at 4am
